1 Corinthians 7
1 Now concerning the thing whereof you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
Ahora, en cuanto a las cosas en su carta para mí: es bueno que un hombre no tenga nada que ver con una mujer.
2 But for fear of fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
Pero a causa de los deseos de la carne, cada uno tenga su esposa, y cada mujer su marido.
3 Let the husband render the debt to his wife, and the wife also in like manner to the husband.
Deje que el marido cumpla con el deber conyugal; y así mismo que la esposa haga lo mismo con el marido.
4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband. And in like manner the husband also hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
La esposa no tiene poder sobre su cuerpo, sino el marido; y de la misma manera el esposo no tiene poder sobre su cuerpo, sino la esposa.
5 Defraud not one another, except, perhaps, by consent, for a time, that you may give yourselves to prayer; and return together again, lest Satan tempt you for your incontinency.
No se nieguen él uno de otro, a no ser por mutuo consentimiento sólo por un corto tiempo, y de acuerdo, para que puedan dedicarse a orar, y reunirse de nuevo; para que Satanás no se aproveche de ustedes a través de ustedes a causa de su incontinencia.
6 But I speak this by indulgence, not by commandment.
Pero esto lo digo como mi opinión, y no como un mandamiento.
7 For I would that all men were even as myself: but every one hath his proper gift from God; one after this manner, and another after that.
Es mi deseo que todos los hombres sean tal como soy. Pero cada hombre tiene su propio don de Dios, uno de esta manera y otros de otra.
8 But I say to the unmarried, and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue, even as I.
Pero yo digo a los solteros y a las viudas: Es bueno para ellos ser como yo soy.
9 But if they do not contain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burnt.
Pero si no tienen, don de continencia, cásense, porque es mejor casarse que quemarse de pasión.
10 But to them that are married, not I but the Lord commandeth, that the wife depart not from her husband.
Pero a los casados les doy órdenes, aunque no yo, sino el Señor, de que la esposa no separe de de su marido,
11 And if she depart, that she remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. And let not the husband put away his wife.
o si ella se aleja de él, que se quede soltera, o que se vuelva a unir a su marido; y que el marido no abandone a su esposa.
12 For to the rest I speak, not the Lord. If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she consent to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
Pero a lo demás yo digo, y no el Señor; Si un hermano tiene una esposa que no es cristiana, y es su deseo seguir viviendo con él, que no la abandone.
13 And if any woman hath a husband that believeth not, and he consent to dwell with her, let her not put away her husband.
Y si una mujer tiene un marido que no es cristiano, y es su deseo seguir viviendo con ella, que no lo abandone.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife; and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the believing husband: otherwise your children should be unclean; but now they are holy.
Porque el marido que no tiene fe se hace santo por medio de su esposa cristiana, y la esposa que no es cristiana se hace santa por medio del hermano; si no, sus hijos serían inmundos, pero ahora son santos.
15 But if the unbeliever depart, let him depart. For a brother or sister is not under servitude in such cases. But God hath called us in peace.
Pero si el que no es cristiano tiene el deseo de irse, que así sea: el hermano o la hermana en tal posición no está obligado a hacer una cosa o la otra: pero es un placer de Dios que podamos estar en paz el uno con el otro.
16 For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? Or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
Porque ¿cómo puedes estar segura, oh mujer, de que tú no serás la causa de la salvación de tu marido? ¿O tú, oh esposo, que no puedes hacer lo mismo por tu esposa?
17 But as the Lord hath distributed to every one, as God hath called every one, so let him walk: and so in all churches I teach.
Pero, como quiera que sea, cada uno debe vivir según los dones que el Señor le ha dado, y tal como era cuando Dios lo llamó. Y estas son mis órdenes para todas las iglesias.
18 Is any man called, being circumcised? let him not procure uncircumcision. Is any man called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
Si alguno que es cristiano ha tenido la circuncisión, que se quede así; y si un hombre que es cristiano no ha tenido la circuncisión, no haga ningún cambio.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing: but the observance of the commandments of God.
La circuncisión no es nada, y su opuesto no es nada, pero solo cumplir las órdenes de Dios es valioso.
20 Let every man abide in the same calling in which he was called.
Deje que cada hombre mantenga la posición en la cual Dios lo ha puesto.
21 Wast thou called, being a bondman? care not for it; but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
Si fueras un siervo cuando te convertiste en cristiano, que no te duela; pero si tienes la oportunidad de liberarte, hazlo.
22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a bondman, is the freeman of the Lord. Likewise he that is called, being free, is the bondman of Christ.
Porque el que era siervo cuando se hizo cristiano es hombre libre del Señor; y él que era libre cuando se hizo cristiano es el siervo del Señor.
23 You are bought with a price; be not made the bondslaves of men.
Es el Señor quien pagó el precio por ti: no seas siervo de los hombres.
24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he was called, therein abide with God.
Hermanos míos, que cada hombre se mantenga en esa condición, que es el propósito de Dios para él.
25 Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord; but I give counsel, as having obtained mercy of the Lord, to be faithful.
Ahora bien, sobre las vírgenes no tengo órdenes del Señor; pero doy mi opinión como alguien a quien el Señor le ha dado misericordia para que sea fiel a él.
26 I think therefore that this is good for the present necessity, that it is good for a man so to be.
En mi opinión, entonces, debido al presente problema, es bueno que un hombre se quede como está.
27 Art thou bound to a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
Si está casado con una esposa, no intente liberarse de ella: si está libre de una esposa, no tome esposa.
28 But if thou take a wife, thou hast not sinned. And if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned: nevertheless, such shall have tribulation of the flesh. But I spare you.
Si te casas no es un pecado; y si una mujer soltera se casa no es un pecado. Pero aquellos que lo hagan tendrán problemas en la carne. Y yo se los quiero evitar.
29 This therefore I say, brethren; the time is short; it remaineth, that they also who have wives, be as if they had none;
Pero yo digo esto, hermanos míos, el tiempo es corto; y desde ahora será sabio que los que tienen esposas sean como si no las tuvieran;
30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as if they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
Y a los que lloran, como si no lloraran y para aquellos que están contentos, como si no estuvieran; y para aquellos que están obteniendo propiedades, hacer como si no tuvieran nada;
31 And they that use this world, as if they used it not: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
Y para aquellos que disfrutan del mundo, como si no lo disfrutaran; porque el modo de vida de este mundo llegará a su fin rápidamente.
32 But I would have you to be without solicitude. He that is without a wife, is solicitous for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please God.
Pero mi deseo es que estén libre de preocupaciones. El hombre soltero se preocupa de las cosas del Señor y cómo puede agradar al Señor:
33 But he that is with a wife, is solicitous for the things of the world, how he may please his wife: and he is divided.
Pero el hombre casado presta su atención a las cosas de este mundo, cómo puede dar placer a su esposa.
34 And the unmarried woman and the virgin thinketh on the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she that is married thinketh on the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
Y la esposa no es lo mismo que la virgen. La virgen piensa en las cosas del Señor, para que sea santa en cuerpo y en espíritu; pero la mujer casada piensa en las cosas del mundo, en cómo puede dar placer a su marido.
35 And this I speak for your profit: not to cast a snare upon you; but for that which is decent, and which may give you power to attend upon the Lord, without impediment.
Ahora digo esto para su provecho; no para hacerles las cosas difíciles, sino por lo que es correcto, y para que puedan prestar toda su atención a las cosas del Señor.
36 But if any man think that he seemeth dishonoured, with regard to his virgin, for that she is above the age, and it must so be: let him do what he will; he sinneth not, if she marry.
Pero si, en opinión de cualquier hombre, él no está haciendo lo correcto para su hija virgen, si ella ha rebasado sus mejores años y es necesario que así sea, que haga lo que le parezca correcto; no es pecado; que se case.
37 For he that hath determined being steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but having power of his own will; and hath judged this in his heart, to keep his virgin, doth well.
Pero el hombre que es fuerte en su mente y en su propósito, que no es forzado sino que tiene control sobre sus deseos, lo hace bien si llega a la decisión de mantener a su hija virgen. Bien hace.
38 Therefore, both he that giveth his virgin in marriage, doth well; and he that giveth her not, doth better.
Entonces, el que la da en casamiento hace bien, y el que no la da en casamiento hace bien.
39 A woman is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband die, she is at liberty: let her marry to whom she will; only in the Lord.
Es correcto que una esposa esté con su esposo mientras viva; pero cuando su esposo está muerto, ella es libre de casarse con otro; pero solo con un creyente.
40 But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel; and I think that I also have the spirit of God.
Pero será mejor que ella se quede como está, en mi opinión: y me parece que tengo el Espíritu de Dios.
