< 1 Corinthians 14 >
1 Follow after charity, be zealous for spiritual gifts; but rather that you may prophesy.
Mhläkphyanak cun ktha na ua. Ngmüimkhyaa bänake üng nami mlungmthin jah ta ua, aktunga Pamhnama ngthu sang theia bänak cun tak vaia ktha na ua.
2 For he that speaketh in a tongue, speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man heareth. Yet by the Spirit he speaketh mysteries.
Am ksinga ngthu pyenkie cun u naw ami pyen am ksingkia kyase khyanga veia käh pyen u lü Pamhnama veia pyenkiea kyaki. Ngmüimkhya johit üng ngthu ngthup cun pyenkie ni.
3 But he that prophesieth, speaketh to men unto edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
Ngthu sangkie cun, khyanga dawnak vaia ngthu, mcäinaka ngthu ja mhlawhmcahnaka ngthu pyenkie.
4 He that speaketh in a tongue, edifieth himself: but he that prophesieth, edifieth the church.
Am ksing theia ngthu pyenkie cun ami mäta dawnak vaia kyaki, acunsepi Pamhnama ngthu sangkie cun naw sangcimea dawnak vaia pyenkie ni.
5 And I would have you all to speak with tongues, but rather to prophesy. For greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh with tongues: unless perhaps he interpret, that the church may receive edification.
Acunüng nami van naw am ksing theia ngthu nami pyen thei vai ka hlüeiki, acunsepi ngthu nami sangnak vaia bäkhäknak cun hlüei bawk veng; ngthu kce pyenkia kthak Pamhnama ngthu sangki cun phumah ve, ngthu pyenkia phäh lat be khai a ve ta sangcim daw khai ni.
6 But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in doctrine?
Ka püie, nami veia ka law üng am ksinga ngthu pyen lü ka law üng ia ka kya khai. Ia am kya, Pamhnama mdannak, ksingnak, dawkia khyübe ja mtheinak ka lawpüi üngpi ia am kya.
7 Even things without life that give sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction of sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
Am xüngsekie pilim ja cawng pi akdaw am ami ng'yünko ta a tuilam am ksingki naw ihawkba jah ksing thei khai ni?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Ngtuk pawh vai üng kpun ami tum, am mi ngsinga a ng'yüng am ksing üng ngtuk pawh khaia u ngpitngpyang khai ni?
9 So likewise you, except you utter by the tongue plain speech, how shall it be known what is said? For you shall be speaking into the air.
Acuna mäiha, am ksinga ngthu üng pyen cun ihawkba khyange naw ksing khaie ni? Khawkhi üng pyen sawxata mäiha law khai.
10 There are, for example, so many kinds of tongues in this world; and none is without voice.
Khawmdek khana ngthukhyü akce kce veki, acunsepi ami van ami ti hlü veki.
11 If then I know not the power of the voice, I shall be to him to whom I speak a barbarian; and he that speaketh, a barbarian to me.
Ami pyen am ka ksing üng acun pyenki cun keia phäha khyangmjü kcea kya lü kei pi amimi phäha khyangmjü kcea ka kya khai.
12 So you also, forasmuch as you are zealous of spirits, seek to abound unto the edifying of the church.
Acunakyase, nangmi pi Ngmüimkya bänak tak vaia nami kthanaka mäiha; sangcima ngdüih thawhnak vaia acune jah sumei vaia ktha na däm ua.
13 And therefore he that speaketh by a tongue, let him pray that he may interpret.
Am ksing theia ngthu pyenki naw i a pyen ti cun a jah mtheh be thei vaia ktaiyü se.
14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is without fruit.
Am ksing theia ngthu üng ka ktaiyü üng, ka ngmüimkhya akcanga ktaiyüki, cunsepi ka mlung naw am sim.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit, I will sing also with the understanding.
Acukba anita i ja ka pawh kawm? Ka ngmüimkhya am ka ktaiyü khai, ka ksingnak am pi ka ktaiyü khai; ka ngmüimkhya am ng’äi lü ka mlung kyawng am pi ka ng’äi hnga khai.
16 Else if thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that holdeth the place of the unlearned say, Amen, to thy blessing? because he knoweth not what thou sayest.
Ngmüimkhya däk am Pamhnama vei jenak na mtheh üng, jenak mtheh lü na ktaiyü cun am ksingkie naw ihawkba “Amen” ti thei khaie ni.
17 For thou indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
Pamhnam üng jenak mtheh lü na ktaiyü cun aktäa dawki cunsepi khyang kcee naw am daw na u.
18 I thank my God I speak with all your tongues.
Nangmi kthaka am ksinga ngthu ka pyen bawka phäh Pamhnam je na veng.
19 But in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may instruct others also; than ten thousand words in a tongue.
Acunsepi, sangcimea sawkhanaka am ksing theia ngthu thawng mat pyen na kthaka ta, khyangea ksing theia ngthu nglung mhma ka sumei khai ni.
20 Brethren, do not become children in sense: but in malice be children, and in sense be perfect.
Ka püie, nami cungaihnak üng hnasen hea kba käh ve ua; cungaihnak am xü u lü mkhyekatnak am ksingkia hnasena mäiha ve ua.
21 In the law it is written: In other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people; and neither so will they hear me, saith the Lord.
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to believers, but to unbelievers; but prophecies not to unbelievers, but to believers.
Acunakyase, am ksing theia ngthu pyen cun jumeikiea phäha msingnaka am kya, am jumeikiea phäha ni a kya ve; ngthu sangnak cun am jumeikiea phäha msingnaka am kya, jumeikiea phäha ni a kya ve.
23 If therefore the whole church come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in unlearned persons or infidels, will they not say that you are mad?
Acunakyase, sangcime naküt ngcun u lü, nami van naw am ksinga khyü am ngthu nami pyen üng, am ksingkie ja am jumeikie ami law üng, nami angkia am ning jah ngai khaie ni?
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or an unlearned person, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all.
Acunsepi, sangcime nami van ngthu sang u lü nami na ve k'um üng, am jumeikia pi kyase, khyang sawxata pi kyase, a luh law üng ami ngjaka ngthu naw ami mkhyekatnak jah ksingsak khai. Ami ngjak naw ami katnak ngthu jah mkhyah khai.
25 The secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so, falling down on his face, he will adore God, affirming that God is among you indeed.
Ami mlungkyawng k'uma anghmüa ami ngaihkyunake mdana kya khai, kawp u lü Pamhnam sawhkhah khaie; “Pamhnam hia ve kcang ve” tia pyen khaie.
26 How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation: let all things be done to edification.
Ka püie aw, ka ti hlü ta hikba ni. Hjawhkhah khaia nami ngkhäm law üng, mat ng’äi khai, mat naw mtheimthangnak, mat naw Pamhnam üngkhyüh mdannak, mat naw am ksing theia khyü pyenak, mat naw acuna khyü ti cun lat be yah khai. Avan cun sangcima dawnak vaia kya khaie.
27 If any speak with a tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and in course, and let one interpret.
Am ksing theia ngthu üng pyenki a ve üng, nghngih ja anung säih kthum ami ve üng, mat päng lü mat naw pyen yah khai. Acuna ani pyen cun pi mat mat naw lat be yah khai.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him hold his peace in the church, and speak to himself and to God.
Lüpi acuna lat be khai am a ve ta sangcima k'uma käh khihkheh kawm, amät naw Pamhnam ngthueipüi kawm.
29 And let the prophets speak, two or three; and let the rest judge.
Nghngih kthum Pamhnama ngthu yahki naw ami pyen um üng akce naw i ami pyen ti cun jah ksükcet kawm.
30 But if any thing be revealed to another sitting, let the first hold his peace.
Ngkämnaka mat naw Pamhnam üngkhyüh ngthu a yah ta am ksinga ngthu pyenki naw a pyen hawih se.
31 For you may all prophesy one by one; that all may learn, and all may be exhorted:
Avan naw Pamhnama ngthu mat mat cima nami sang yah khai acun üng ni avan naw ngthei na u lü ngjuktha pi yah khaie.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
Pamhnama ngthu pyennak thei bänak yahki cun ngthu pyenkia keha ve yah vai,
33 For God is not the God of dissension, but of peace: as also I teach in all the churches of the saints.
isetiakyaküng Pamhnam naw amimi akse mi ve vai am hlüei, mi ngkawt vai ja mi dim’yeki vai hlüeiki. Pamhnama sangcim avan ami ngkhäm üng,
34 Let women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be subject, as also the law saith.
nghnumie ngkhämnaka käh khihkheh lü ve u se; Judahea thum naw a pyena kba; käh jah ksenak vai jah phäh käh ngthuei u se.
35 But if they would learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is a shame for a woman to speak in the church.
I mä ami ksing hlü üng pi ami cei ima kthäh u se. Sangcima ngkhämnaka nghnumia ngthu pyen cun ngkekhyakei phyaki ni.
36 Or did the word of God come out from you? Or came it only unto you?
Pamhnama ngthu cun nangmi üngkhyüh lawki aw? Am ani üng nangmia vei däka pha lawki aw?
37 If any seem to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him know the things that I write to you, that they are the commandments of the Lord.
A u pi, Pamhnama ngsäa am ani üng Ngmüimkhya bänaka a ngaih üng, ani naw a ksing vaia Bawipa ngthupet cun ania veia ka yuk ni.
38 But if any man know not, he shall not be known.
Hina ka yuk ia am msuiki cun ani pi ia käh msui ua.
39 Wherefore, brethren, be zealous to prophesy; and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Acunakyase ka püie, Pamhnama ngthu sang da nami mlung ktha na u; am ksinga ngthu pyenki pi käh mkhyawh u.
40 But let all things be done decently, and according to order.
Anaküt cun akdawa tui lam üng bilo ua.
