1 Chronicles 10
1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel, and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down wounded in mount Gelboe.
Los Filisteos pelearon con Israel, e Israel huyó delante de ellos, y cayeron heridos en el monte de Gelboé.
2 And the Philistines drew near pursuing after Saul, and his sons, and they killed Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Melchisua the sons of Saul.
Y los Filisteos siguieron a Saul, y a sus hijos; y mataron los Filisteos a Jonatán, y a Abinadab, y a Melquisua, hijos de Saul.
3 And the battle grew hard against Saul, and the archers reached him, and wounded him with arrows.
Y la batalla se agravó sobre Saul, y alcanzáronle los flecheros, y fue herido de los flecheros.
4 And Saul said to his armourbearer: Draw thy sword, and kill me: lest these uncircumcised come, and mock me. But his armourbearer would not, for he was struck with fear: so Saul took his sword, and fell upon it.
Entonces Saul dijo a su escudero: Saca tu espada, y pásame con ella, porque no vengan estos incircuncisos, y escarnezcan de mí. Mas su escudero no quiso, porque tenía gran miedo. Entonces Saul tomó la espada, y echóse sobre ella.
5 And when his armourbearer saw it, to wit, that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword and died.
Y como su escudero vio a Saul muerto, él también se echó sobre su espada y matóse.
6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house fell together.
Así murió Saul, y sus tres hijos, y toda su casa murió juntamente con él.
7 And when the men of Israel, that dwelt in the plains, saw this, they fled: and Saul and his sons being dead, they forsook their cities, and were scattered up and down: and the Philistines came, and dwelt in them.
Y viendo todos los de Israel que habitaban en el valle, que habían huido, y que Saul y sus hijos eran muertos, dejaron sus ciudades, y huyeron: y vinieron los Filisteos y habitaron en ellas.
8 And the next day the Philistines taking away the spoils of them that were slain, found Saul and his sons lying on mount Gelboe.
Y fue que viniendo el día siguiente los Filisteos a despojar los muertos, hallaron a Saul y a sus hijos tendidos en el monte de Gelboé.
9 And when they had stripped him, and cut off his head, and taken away his armour, they sent it into their land, to be carried about, and shewn in the temples of the idols and to the people.
Y después que le hubieron desnudado, tomaron su cabeza, y sus armas, y enviáron lo todo a la tierra de los Filisteos por todas partes, para que fuese denunciado a sus ídolos, y al pueblo.
10 And his armour they dedicated in the temple of their god, and his head they fastened up in the temple of Dagon.
Y pusieron sus armas en el templo de su dios: y colgaron la cabeza en el templo de Dagón.
11 And when the men of Jabes Galaad had heard this, to wit, all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
Y oyendo todos los de Jabes de Galaad lo que los Filisteos habían hecho de Saul,
12 All the valiant men of them arose, and took the bodies of Saul and of his sons, and brought them to Jabes, and buried their bones under the oak that was in Jabes, and they fasted seven days.
Levantáronse todos los valientes hombres, y tomaron el cuerpo de Saul, y los cuerpos de sus hijos, y trajéronlos a Jabes; y enterraron sus huesos debajo del alcornoque en Jabes, y ayunaron siete días.
13 So Saul died for his iniquities, because he transgressed the commandment of the Lord, which he had commanded, and kept it not: and moreover consulted also a witch,
Así murió Saul por su rebelión con que se rebeló contra Jehová, contra la palabra de Jehová, la cual no guardó; y porque consultó al pitón preguntando;
14 And trusted not is the Lord: therefore he slew him, and transferred his kingdom to David the son of Isai.
Y no consultó a Jehová; por esta causa le mató, y traspasó el reino a David, hijo de Isaí.
