Zechariah 2
1 And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
Ich blickte auf und sah, da zeigte sich auf einmal ein Mann, der in seiner Hand eine Meßschnur hielt.
2 And I said, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
Als ich nun fragte: Wohin willst du gehen? sprach er zu mir: Jerusalem zu messen, um zu sehen, wie groß seine Breite und wie groß seine Länge sei.
3 And behold, the angel that talked with me went forth; and another angel went forth to meet him,
Da trat auf einmal der Engel, der mit mir redete, hervor, und ein anderer Engel trat auf, ihm gegenüber;
4 and said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein;
zu dem sprach er: Lauf, sage jenem jungen Manne dort Folgendes: Frei und offen wird Jerusalem daliegen wegen der darin befindlichen Menge von Menschen und Vieh,
5 and I, saith Jehovah, I will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
und ich selbst, ist der Spruch Jahwes, will ihm ringsum als eine feurige Mauer dienen und mich herrlich in ihm erzeigen!
6 Ho, ho! flee from the land of the north, saith Jehovah; for I have scattered you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith Jehovah.
Ha, ha! Flieht doch aus dem nordischen Land, ist der Spruch Jahwes; denn wie in die vier Winde des Himmels habe ich euch zerstreut, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
7 Ho! escape, Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
Ha! Nach Zion rettet euch, die ihr in Babel wohnt!
8 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: After the glory, hath he sent me unto the nations that made you a spoil; for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Denn so hat Jahwe der Heerscharen geboten, hat auf Ruhm mich ausgesandt zu den Völkern, die euch plünderten; denn wer euch antastet, tastet seinen Augapfel an!
9 For behold, I will shake my hand upon them, and they shall become a spoil to those that served them: and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.
Denn fürwahr, ich will meine Hand über sie schwingen, daß Sie eine Beute ihrer Unterthanen werden sollen, und ihr erkennet, daß mich Jahwe der Heerscharen gesandt hat!
10 Sing aloud and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.
Juble und freue dich, Tochter Zion! Denn alsbald erscheine ich, um in deiner Mitte zu wohnen, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
11 And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, and shall be unto me for a people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
Da werden sich dann an jenem Tage viele Völker an Jahwe anschließen, um zu seinem Volke zu gehören und mitten unter dir zu wohnen, und du wirst daran erkennen, daß mich Jahwe der Heerscharen zu dir gesandt hat.
12 And Jehovah shall inherit Judah [as] his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Jahwe wird Juda als sein Erbteil auf dem heiligen Boden in Besitz nehmen und Jerusalem wiederum erwählen.
13 Let all flesh be silent before Jehovah; for he is risen up out of his holy habitation.
Alles Fleisch sei stille vor Jahwe! Denn er hat sich aufgemacht aus seiner heiligen Wohnung.
