Psalms 99

1 Jehovah reigneth: let the peoples tremble. He sitteth [between the] cherubim: let the earth be moved.

L'Éternel règne; les peuples tremblent! Il a son trône au-dessus des chérubins; la terre est ébranlée!

2 Jehovah is great in Zion, and he is high above all the peoples.

L'Éternel est grand dans Sion; Il est élevé au-dessus de tous les peuples.

3 They shall praise thy great and terrible name, — it is holy! —

Qu'on célèbre son nom grand et redoutable: Dieu est saint!

4 And the strength of the king that loveth justice. Thou hast established equity: it is thou that executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

Qu'on célèbre la puissance du Roi qui aime la justice. C'est toi, ô Dieu, qui établis le droit; C'est toi qui exerces en Jacob le jugement et la justice.

5 Exalt Jehovah our God, and worship at his footstool. He is holy!

Exaltez l'Éternel, notre Dieu; Prosternez-vous devant son marchepied: Dieu est saint!

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name: they called unto Jehovah, and he answered them.

Moïse et Aaron étaient parmi ses sacrificateurs. Et Samuel parmi ceux qui invoquaient son nom. Ils invoquaient l'Éternel, et il leur répondait;

7 He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the statute that he gave them.

Il leur parlait dans la colonne de nuée. Ils ont gardé ses enseignements, Et la loi qu'il leur avait donnée.

8 Jehovah, our God, thou answeredst them: a forgiving God wast thou unto them, though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

Éternel, notre Dieu, tu leur as répondu; Tu fus pour eux un Dieu qui savait leur pardonner. Tout en les punissant de leurs fautes.

9 Exalt Jehovah our God, and worship at the hill of his holiness; for holy is Jehovah our God.

Exaltez l'Éternel, notre Dieu, Et prosternez-vous devant sa montagne sainte; Car l'Éternel, notre Dieu, est saint.
