Psalms 97
1 Jehovah reigneth: let the earth be glad, let the many isles rejoice.
O Senhor reina; regozije-se a terra: alegrem-se as muitas ilhas.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him; righteousness and judgment are the foundation of his throne.
Nuvens e obscuridade estão ao redor dele: justiça e juízo são a base do seu trono.
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his adversaries round about.
Um fogo vai adiante dele, e abraza os seus inimigos em redor.
4 His lightnings lightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
Os seus relâmpagos alumiam o mundo; a terra viu e tremeu.
5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Jehovah, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
Os montes se derretem como cera na presença do Senhor, na presença do Senhor de toda a terra.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.
Os céus anunciam a sua justiça, e todos os povos veem a sua glória.
7 Ashamed be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols. Worship him, all ye gods.
Confundidos sejam todos os que servem imagens de escultura, que se glóriam de ídolos: prostrai-vos diante dele, todos os deuses.
8 Zion heard, and rejoiced; and the daughters of Judah were glad, because of thy judgments, O Jehovah.
Sião ouviu e se alegrou; e os filhos de Judá se alegraram por causa da tua justiça, ó Senhor.
9 For thou, Jehovah, art the Most High above all the earth; thou art exalted exceedingly above all gods.
Pois tu, Senhor, és o mais alto sobre toda a terra; tu és muito mais exaltado do que todos os deuses.
10 Ye that love Jehovah, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints, he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Vós, que amais ao Senhor, aborrecei o mal: ele guarda as almas dos seus santos, ele os livra das mãos dos ímpios.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
A luz semeia-se para o justo, e a alegria para os retos de coração.
12 Rejoice in Jehovah, ye righteous; and give thanks in remembrance of his holiness.
Alegrai-vos, ó justos, no Senhor, e dai louvores à memória da sua santidade.
