< Psalms 90 >

1 A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.
Kadhannaa Musee Nama Waaqaa Sanaa. Yaa Gooftaa, ati dhaloota hunda keessatti iddoo jireenyaa nuu taateerta.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art God.
Utuu tulluuwwan hin dhalatin yookaan utuu ati lafaa fi addunyaa hin uumin, baraa baraa hamma bara baraatti ati Waaqa.
3 Thou makest [mortal] man to return to dust, and sayest, Return, children of men.
Atis, “Yaa ilmaan namootaa, biyyootti deebiʼaa” jettee namoota biyyootti deebista.
4 For a thousand years, in thy sight, are as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.
Fuula kee duratti waggaan kumni tokko, akkuma guyyaa kaleessa darbee ti; yookaan akkuma dabaree eegumsa halkanii tokkoo ti.
5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning they are like grass [that] groweth up:
Ati hirriba duʼaatiin namoota haxooftee balleessita; isaan akkuma marga ganama bayyanatuu ti;
6 In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down and withereth.
margi sun ganama ganama bayyanatu illee galgala galgala garuu coollagee goga.
7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy fury are we troubled.
Aariin kee nu fixeera; dheekkamsi kees nu naasiseera.
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.
Yakka keenya fuula kee dura, cubbuu keenya dhokataa sanas ifa fuula keetii dura keesseerta.
9 For all our days pass away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a [passing] thought.
Barri keenya hundinuu dheekkamsa keetiin dhumeeraatii; umurii keenyas aaduudhaan fixanna.
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet their pride is labour and vanity, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Dheerinni bara keenyaa waggaa torbaatama, yoo jabaanne immoo waggaa saddeettama taʼa; kuni iyyuu garri caalaan isaa dadhabbii fi rakkinaan guutameera; inni dafee darbaatii; nus barrifnee ni sokkina.
11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?
Humna aarii keetii eenyutu beeka? Dheekkamsi kee akkuma sodaa nu siif qabaachuu qabnu sanaa guddaadhaatii.
12 So teach [us] to number our days, that we may acquire a wise heart.
Akka nu garaa ogummaadhaan guutame qabaannuuf, bara keenya lakkaaʼuu nu barsiisi.
13 Return, Jehovah: how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
Yaa Waaqayyo, deebiʼi! Kun hamma yoomiitti taʼa? Tajaajiltoota keetiifis garaa laafi.
14 Satisfy us early with thy loving-kindness; that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Akka nu bara keenya guutuu gammannee ililchinuuf, ganama ganama araara keetiin nu quufsi.
15 Make us glad according to the days [wherein] thou hast afflicted us, according to the years [wherein] we have seen evil.
Hamma baayʼina guyyoota ati nu miite sanaa, hamma baayʼina waggoota nu rakkanne sanaas nu gammachiisi.
16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy majesty unto their sons.
Hojiin kee tajaajiltoota keetti, ulfinni kees ijoollee isaaniitti haa mulʼifamu.
17 And let the beauty of Jehovah our God be upon us; and establish thou the work of our hands upon us: yea, the work of our hands, establish thou it.
Eebbi Waaqa keenya Gooftichaa nurra haa buʼu; hojii harka keenyaas jabeessii nuu dhaabi; eeyyee, hojii harka keenyaa jabeessii nuu dhaabi.
