Psalms 89
1 An instruction. Of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.
ইষ্রাহীয় এথনের মস্কীল। আমি চিরকাল সদাপ্রভুর মহান প্রেমের গান গাইব; আমার মুখ দিয়ে আমি তোমার বিশ্বস্ততার কথা সব বংশপরম্পরার কাছে প্রকাশ করব।
2 For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.
আমি ঘোষণা করব যে তোমার প্রেম চিরকাল সুদৃঢ়, তোমার বিশ্বস্ততা তুমি স্বর্গে প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছ।
3 I have made a covenant with mine elect, I have sworn unto David my servant:
তুমি বলেছ, “আমি আমার মনোনীত ব্যক্তির সঙ্গে নিয়ম করেছি, আমার দাস দাউদের কাছে আমি শপথ করেছি,
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne from generation to generation. (Selah)
‘আমি তোমার বংশ চিরতরে স্থাপন করব এবং বংশের পর বংশ তোমার সিংহাসন সুদৃঢ় করব।’”
5 And the heavens shall celebrate thy wonders, O Jehovah, and thy faithfulness in the congregation of the saints.
হে সদাপ্রভু, আকাশমণ্ডল তোমার আশ্চর্য কাজের প্রশংসা করে, পবিত্রজনদের সমাবেশে তোমার বিশ্বস্ততার প্রশংসা করে।
6 For who in the heaven can be compared to Jehovah? [who] among the sons of the mighty shall be likened to Jehovah?
কারণ, হে সদাপ্রভু, আকাশের কার সঙ্গে তোমার তুলনা হয়? স্বর্গীয় সব সত্তার মধ্যে কে সদাপ্রভুর তুল্য?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the council of the saints, and terrible for all that are round about him.
পবিত্রজনদের পরিষদে সব তাঁকে সম্ভ্রম করে; যারা তাঁকে চারিদিকে ঘিরে রেখেছে তিনি তাদের থেকেও ভয়াবহ।
8 Jehovah, God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.
হে সদাপ্রভু, সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বর, কে তোমার মতো? তুমি, হে সদাপ্রভু, শক্তিশালী, তোমার বিশ্বস্ততা তোমাকে ঘিরে রেখেছে।
9 Thou rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, thou stillest them.
তুমি উত্তাল সমুদ্রের উপর শাসন করো; যখন তার ঢেউ উঁচুতে ওঠে, তুমি তাদের শান্ত করে থাকো।
10 Thou hast crushed Rahab as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.
তুমি রহবকে চূর্ণ করে এক হত ব্যক্তির সমান করলে; তোমার শক্তিশালী বাহু দিয়ে তুমি তোমার শত্রুদের ছিন্নভিন্ন করলে।
11 Thine are the heavens, the earth also is thine; the world and its fulness, thou hast founded them.
আকাশমণ্ডল তোমার, এই জগৎও তোমার; পৃথিবী ও তার মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে সমস্ত তোমারই সৃষ্টি।
12 The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon triumph in thy name.
তুমি উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ সৃষ্টি করেছ; তাবোর ও হর্মোণ তোমার নামে আনন্দগান করে।
13 Thine is the arm of might: strong is thy hand, high is thy right hand.
তোমার বাহু পরাক্রমে পূর্ণ; তোমার হাত বলবান, তোমার ডান হাত মহিমান্বিত।
14 Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne; loving-kindness and truth go before thy face.
ধার্মিকতা আর ন্যায় তোমার সিংহাসনের ভিত্তি; প্রেম আর বিশ্বস্ততা তোমার সম্মুখবর্তী হয়।
15 Blessed is the people that know the shout of joy: they walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.
ধন্য তারা যারা তোমার জয়ধ্বনি করতে শিখেছে, যারা তোমার সান্নিধ্যের আলোতে চলাফেরা করে, হে সদাপ্রভু।
16 In thy name are they joyful all the day, and in thy righteousness are they exalted.
সারাদিন তারা তোমার নামে আনন্দ করে; তোমার ধর্মশীলতায় উল্লাস করে।
17 For thou art the glory of their strength; and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
কারণ তুমি তাদের মহিমা আর শক্তি, আর তোমার অনুগ্রহে তুমি আমাদের শিং বলশালী করেছ।
18 For Jehovah is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel, our king.
প্রকৃতপক্ষে, আমাদের সুরক্ষা সদাপ্রভু থেকে আসে, এবং তিনি, ইস্রায়েলের পবিত্রতম, আমাদেরকে রাজা দিয়েছেন।
19 Then thou spakest in vision of thy Holy One, and saidst, I have laid help upon a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
একবার তুমি দর্শনে কথা বলেছিলে, তোমার ভক্তজনদের প্রতি তুমি বলেছিলে: “আমি এক যোদ্ধাকে শক্তি দিয়েছি; মানুষের মধ্যে থেকে আমি এক যুবককে রাজা হিসেবে মনোনীত করেছি।
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
আমার দাস দাউদকে আমি খুঁজে পেয়েছি; আমার পবিত্র তেল দিয়ে আমি তাকে অভিষিক্ত করেছি।
21 With whom my hand shall be established; and mine arm shall strengthen him.
আমার হাত তার প্রাণ বাঁচিয়ে রাখবে; নিশ্চয় আমার বাহু তাকে শক্তি দেবে।
22 No enemy shall exact upon him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him;
কোনো শত্রু তাকে পরাজিত করবে না; কোনো দুষ্ট তাকে নির্যাতন করবে না।
23 But I will beat down his adversaries before his face, and will smite them that hate him.
তার সামনে আমি তার বিপক্ষদের চূর্ণ করব আর তার প্রতিপক্ষদের আঘাত করব।
24 And my faithfulness and my loving-kindness shall be with him, and by my name shall his horn be exalted.
আমার বিশ্বস্ত প্রেম তার সঙ্গে রইবে, আর আমার নামের মধ্য দিয়ে তার শিং গৌরবান্বিত হবে।
25 And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
সমুদ্রের উপরে আমি তার শাসন প্রসারিত করব, তার আধিপত্য নদীর উপরে।
26 He shall call unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation;
সে আমাকে ডেকে বলবে, ‘তুমি আমার পিতা, আমার ঈশ্বর, শৈল আমার উদ্ধারকর্তা।’
27 And as to me, I will make him firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
এবং আমি তাকে প্রথমজাতরূপে মনোনীত করব, জগতের বুকে সবচেয়ে পরাক্রমী রাজা।
28 My loving-kindness will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him;
আমি চিরদিন তাকে ভালোবাসবো আর তার প্রতি দয়া করব, এবং তার প্রতি আমার নিয়ম কোনোদিন ব্যর্থ হবে না।
29 And I will establish his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
আমি তার বংশ চিরস্থায়ী করব, আকাশমণ্ডলের মতো তার সিংহাসন স্থায়ী করব।
30 If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in mine ordinances;
“যদি তার সন্তানেরা আমার বিধিনিয়ম পরিত্যাগ করে আর আমার অনুশাসন পালন না করে,
31 If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:
তারা যদি আমার আজ্ঞা লঙ্ঘন করে আর যদি আমার আদেশ পালনে ব্যর্থ হয়,
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
আমি দণ্ড দিয়ে তাদের পাপের শাস্তি দেবো, তাদের অপরাধের জন্য চাবুক মারব;
33 Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor belie my faithfulness;
কিন্তু আমার প্রেম আমি তার কাছ থেকে সরিয়ে নেব না, এবং আমি আমার বিশ্বস্ততা কখনও ভঙ্গ করব না।
34 My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
আমি আমার নিয়ম লঙ্ঘন করব না অথবা আমার মুখ যা উচ্চারণ করেছে তা পরিবর্তন করব না।
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David:
আমার পবিত্রতায় আমি একবারই শপথ করেছি— আর আমি দাউদকে মিথ্যা বলব না—
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;
যে তার বংশ চিরস্থায়ী হবে এবং তার সিংহাসন আমার সামনে সূর্যের মতো স্থির রইবে
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and the witness in the sky is firm. (Selah)
আকাশে বিশ্বস্ত সাক্ষী চন্দ্রের মতো চিরকাল তা প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবে।”
38 But thou hast rejected and cast off; thou hast been very wroth with thine anointed:
কিন্তু তুমি তাকে পরিত্যাগ করেছ, তুমি তাকে দূর করেছ, তোমার অভিষিক্ত ব্যক্তির প্রতি তুমি অত্যন্ত ক্রুদ্ধ হয়েছ।
39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground:
তোমার দাসের সঙ্গে স্থাপিত তোমার নিয়ম তুমি অস্বীকার করেছ এবং তার মুকুট তুমি ধুলোতে মিশিয়ে অপবিত্র করেছ।
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
তার সুরক্ষার সব প্রাচীর তুমি ভেঙে দিয়েছ এবং দুর্গ ধ্বংসাবশেষে পরিণত করেছ।
41 All that pass by the way plunder him; he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
সব পথিকেরা তাকে লুট করেছে; সে তার প্রতিবেশীর অবজ্ঞার বস্তু হয়েছে।
42 Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice:
তুমি তার বিপক্ষদের শক্তিশালী করেছ; তুমি তার সব শত্রুকে আনন্দিত করেছ।
43 Yea, thou hast turned back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him stand in the battle.
বস্তুত, তুমি তার তরোয়ালের ধার নষ্ট করেছ আর যুদ্ধে তাকে সাহায্য করতে অস্বীকার করেছ।
44 Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground;
তুমি তার প্রভা শেষ করেছ এবং তার সিংহাসন মাটিতে নিক্ষেপ করেছ।
45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
তুমি তার যৌবনকাল সংক্ষিপ্ত করেছ; তুমি তাকে লজ্জার আচ্ছাদনে আবৃত করেছ।
46 How long, Jehovah, wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy fury burn like fire?
হে সদাপ্রভু, কত কাল? তুমি কি চিরকাল নিজেকে লুকিয়ে রাখবে? কত কাল তোমার ক্রোধ আগুনের মতো জ্বলবে?
47 Remember, as regards me, what life is. Wherefore hast thou created all the children of men to be vanity?
মনে রেখো আমার জীবন কত স্বল্পস্থায়ী। কত শূন্য ও ব্যর্থ এই মানবজীবন!
48 What man liveth, and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
কে জীবিত থাকবে অথচ মৃত্যু দেখবে না, অথবা কে পাতালের কবল থেকে পালাতে পারে? (Sheol h7585)
49 Where, Lord, are thy former loving-kindnesses, [which] thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?
হে প্রভু, তোমার পূর্বকালীন মহান প্রেম কোথায়? তুমি বিশ্বস্ততায় দাউদের প্রতি যে শপথ করেছিলে।
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants — that I bear in my bosom [that of] all the mighty peoples —
মনে রেখো, প্রভু, কীভাবে তোমার দাস অবজ্ঞার পাত্র হয়েছে, কীভাবে আমি সব জাতির উপহাস নিজের হৃদয়ে সহ্য করি,
51 Wherewith thine enemies, O Jehovah, have reproached, wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
হে সদাপ্রভু, যেসব উপহাস নিয়ে তোমার শত্রুরা আমাকে বিদ্রুপ করেছে, সেসব দিয়ে তারা তোমার অভিষিক্ত ব্যক্তির প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপকে বিদ্রুপ করেছে।
52 Blessed be Jehovah for evermore! Amen, and Amen.
চিরকাল সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা হোক!
