Psalms 85

1 To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:

En Psalm Korah barnas, till att föresjunga. Herre, du som fordom vast dino lande nådelig, och förlossade de fångar af Jacob;

2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)

Du som tillförene dino folke missgerning förlåtit hafver, och alla deras synder öfvertäckt; (Sela)

3 Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.

Du som tillförene alla dina vrede borttagit hafver, och vändt dig ifrå dine vredes grymhet;

4 Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.

Tröst oss, Gud vår Frälsare, och låt af dine ogunst till oss.

5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation?

Vill du då till evig tid uppå oss vred vara; och låt dina vrede gå evinnerliga?

6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Vill du då icke åter vederqvicka oss; att ditt folk må glädja sig öfver dig?

7 Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.

Herre, bete oss dina nåde, och hjelp oss.

8 I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly.

Ack! att jag höra måtte, det Herren Gud talar, att han sino folke och sinom heligom frid tillsade; på det de icke skola på någon galenskap komma.

9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.

Dock är ju hans hjelp när dem som frukta honom, att i vårt land skall ära bo;

10 Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:

Att godhet och trohet mötas tillsamman, rättfärdighet och frid kyssas;

11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.

Att trohet må växa på jordene, och rättfärdighet skåda neder af himmelen;

12 Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.

Att ock Herren oss godt gör; på det vårt land må sina frukt gifva;

13 Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.

Att rättfärdighet må ändå för honom blifva, och sin rätta gång hafva.
