Psalms 85
1 To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:
Dem Vorsänger. Von den Kindern Korahs. Ein Psalm. HERR, du warst einst gnädig deinem Land, hast das Gefängnis Jakobs gewendet,
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)
vergabst deines Volkes Schuld, decktest alle ihre Sünden zu, (Pause)
3 Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.
du ließest ab von deinem Grimm, wandtest dich von deines Zornes Glut:
4 Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
Stelle uns wieder her, o Gott unsres Heils, laß ab von deinem Grimm gegen uns!
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation?
Oder willst du ewig mit uns zürnen, deinen Zorn währen lassen von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Willst du uns nicht wieder neu beleben, daß dein Volk sich deiner freuen kann?
7 Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.
HERR, laß uns deine Gnade schauen und schenke uns dein Heil!
8 I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly.
Ich will hören, was Gott, der HERR, reden wird; denn er wird Frieden zusagen seinem Volk und seinen Frommen. Nur daß sie sich nicht wieder zur Torheit wenden!
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Gewiß ist sein Heil denen nahe, die ihn fürchten, daß Herrlichkeit in unserm Lande wohne,
10 Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:
daß Gnade und Wahrheit einander begegnen, Gerechtigkeit und Friede sich küssen,
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.
daß Treue aus der Erde sprieße und Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel schaue.
12 Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.
Der HERR wird uns auch Gutes geben, und unser Land wird seinen Ertrag abwerfen;
13 Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.
Gerechtigkeit wird vor ihm hergehen und ihre Füße setzen auf den Pfad.
