Psalms 85
1 To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:
Au maître chantre. Cantique des fils de Coré. Tu as été, Éternel, propice à ton pays, tu as ramené les captifs de Jacob,
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)
pardonné les crimes de ton peuple, effacé tous ses péchés; (Pause)
3 Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.
tu as déposé toute la colère, éteint le feu de ton courroux;
4 Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
rétablis-nous, ô notre Dieu sauveur, et fais cesser ta fureur envers nous!
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation?
Seras-tu donc toujours irrité contre nous, feras-tu durer ta colère d'âge en âge?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Ne veux-tu pas nous redonner la vie, pour que tu sois la joie de ton peuple?
7 Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.
Fais-nous, ô Éternel, jouir de ta faveur, et nous accorde ton salut.
8 I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly.
Je veux écouter ce que dit Dieu, l'Éternel. Oui, Il parle de salut à son peuple, à ses bien-aimés; mais qu'ils ne retournent pas à la folie!
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Oui, son salut est près de ceux qui le craignent, la gloire reviendra habiter notre terre.
10 Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:
L'amour et la fidélité se rencontrent, la justice et la paix s'embrassent;
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.
la fidélité germe de la terre, et la justice regarde des Cieux.
12 Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.
L'Éternel donne aussi les biens, et notre terre rend ses récoltes.
13 Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.
La justice marche en sa présence, et maintient ses pas dans la voie.
