Psalms 85
1 To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:
Jusqu'à la Fin; psaume des fils de Koré. Seigneur, tu as béni ta terre; tu as ramené Jacob de la captivité.
2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)
Tu as remis ses iniquités à ton peuple; tu as couvert sa face.
3 Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.
Tu as apaisé ta colère; tu as détourné la force de ton courroux.
4 Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
Convertis-nous, ô Dieu notre salut; détourne de nous ta colère.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation?
Seras-tu à jamais irrité contre nous; étendras-tu ta colère sur les générations des générations?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?
O mon Dieu, en te tournant vers nous, tu nous vivifieras, et ton peuple se réjouira en toi.
7 Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.
Seigneur, montre-nous ta miséricorde, et accorde-nous ton salut.
8 I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly.
J'écouterai ce que dira en moi le Seigneur Dieu; car il parlera de la paix à son peuple et à ses saints, et à ceux qui tournent leur cœur vers lui.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Son salut est près de ceux qui le craignent, et sur notre terre habite sa gloire.
10 Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:
La miséricorde et la vérité se sont rencontrées; la justice et la paix se sont embrassées.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.
La vérité est née de la terre, et la justice a regardé du haut du ciel.
12 Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.
Car le Seigneur nous donnera sa bienveillance, et notre terre donnera son fruit.
13 Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.
La justice marchera devant le Seigneur, et mettra ses pieds dans la voie.
