Psalms 75

1 To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' A Psalm of Asaph: a Song. Unto thee we give thanks, O God, we give thanks; and thy name is near: thy marvellous works declare it.

സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. “നശിപ്പിക്കരുതേ” എന്ന രാഗത്തിൽ. ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ഒരു ഗീതം. ദൈവമേ, ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങേക്ക് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്യുന്നു, അങ്ങയുടെ നാമം സമീപമായിരിക്കുകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങേക്ക് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്യുന്നു; ജനം അവിടത്തെ അത്ഭുതപ്രവൃത്തികളെ വർണിക്കുന്നു.

2 When I shall receive the assembly, I will judge with equity.

ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ അനുയോജ്യമായ സമയം നിർണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിപൂർവം ന്യായംവിധിക്കുന്നതും ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു.

3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have established its pillars. (Selah)

ഭൂമിയും അതിലെ നിവാസികളും പ്രകമ്പനംകൊള്ളുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ തൂണുകളെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചുനിർത്തുന്നതും ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു. (സേലാ)

4 I said unto the boastful, Boast not; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

അഹങ്കാരികളോട്, ‘ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും അഹങ്കരിക്കരുത്’ എന്നും ദുഷ്ടരോട്, ‘നിങ്ങളുടെ കൊമ്പ് ഉയർത്തരുത്

5 Lift not up your horn on high; speak not arrogantly with a [stiff] neck.

നിങ്ങളുടെ കൊമ്പ് മേലോട്ടുയർത്തരുത്; ശാഠ്യത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുകയുമരുത്’” എന്നും ഞാൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

6 For not from the east nor from the west, nor yet from the south doth exaltation [come]:

കിഴക്കുനിന്നോ പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നോ മരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നോ അല്ല ഉയർച്ച കൈവരുന്നത്.

7 For God is the judge; he putteth down one and exalteth another.

വിധി കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ദൈവം ആകുന്നു: അവിടന്ന് ഒരാളെ താഴ്ത്തുകയും മറ്റൊരാളെ ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

8 For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, [and] drink.

സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ ചേർത്തതും നുരഞ്ഞുപൊങ്ങുന്നതുമായ വീഞ്ഞുനിറച്ച ഒരു പാനപാത്രം യഹോവയുടെ കൈയിൽ ഉണ്ട്; അവിടന്ന് അത് പകരുന്നു, ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലദുഷ്ടരും അതിന്റെ മട്ടുവരെ ഊറ്റിക്കുടിക്കുന്നു.

9 But as for me, I will declare for ever; I will sing psalms to the God of Jacob.

എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ, ഞാൻ ഇത് എന്നേക്കും പ്രഘോഷിക്കും; ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു സ്തോത്രമർപ്പിക്കും.

10 And all the horns of the wicked will I cut off; [but] the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

അവിടന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ എല്ലാ ദുഷ്ടരുടെയും കൊമ്പുകൾ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ കൊമ്പുകൾ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.”
