< Psalms 74 >
1 An instruction: of Asaph. Why, O God, hast thou cast off for ever? [why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Thaburi ya Asafu Wee Ngai-rĩ, nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũtũtiganĩrie nginya tene? Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmaga marakara maku macine ngʼondu cia rũũru rwaku?
2 Remember thine assembly, which thou hast purchased of old, which thou hast redeemed [to be] the portion of thine inheritance, this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Ririkana andũ arĩa wegũrĩire o tene, arĩa wakũũrire magĩtuĩka mũhĩrĩga ũrĩa wegaĩire, na ũririkane Kĩrĩma gĩa Zayuni, o kũrĩa watũũrĩte.
3 Lift up thy steps unto the perpetual desolations: everything in the sanctuary hath the enemy destroyed.
Erekeria makinya maku kũrĩ mwanangĩko ũyũ ũtũũrĩte kuo, wone ũrĩa handũ harĩa haku haamũre hathũkangĩtio nĩ thũ.
4 Thine adversaries roar in the midst of thy place of assembly; they set up their signs [for] signs.
Amuku aku mararamĩire harĩa wacemanĩirie na ithuĩ; maahaandire bendera ciao irĩ imenyithia.
5 [A man] was known as he could lift up axes in the thicket of trees;
Metuĩte ta andũ mekũhiũria mathanwa mateme mĩtĩ ya mũtitũ.
6 And now they break down its carved work altogether, with hatchets and hammers.
Mbaũ iria ciothe ciagemetio magĩciunanga na mathanwa na ibũi ciao.
7 They have set on fire thy sanctuary, they have profaned the habitation of thy name to the ground.
Nĩmacinire handũ-haku-harĩa-haamũre hakĩmomoka, magĩthaahia gĩikaro kĩa Rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
8 They said in their heart, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all God's places of assembly in the land.
Moigire atĩrĩ na ngoro ciao, “Tũkũmahehenja mathire!” Maacinire handũ harĩa hothe Mũrungu aahooyagĩrwo kũu bũrũri-inĩ.
9 We see not our signs; there is no more any prophet, neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
Gũtirĩ ciama tũringagĩrwo mahinda maya; anabii nĩmathirĩte, na gũtirĩ witũ ũũĩ nĩ nginya rĩ gũgũikara ũguo.
10 How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy contemn thy name for ever?
Wee Ngai, thũ ĩgũtũũra ĩgũthirĩkagia nginya rĩ? Mũmuku no atũũre acambagia rĩĩtwa rĩaku nginya tene?
11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, and thy right hand? [pluck it] out of thy bosom: consume [them].
Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũthune guoko gwaku, o guoko kũu gwaku kwa ũrĩo? Kũrute mĩkũnjo-inĩ ya nguo ciaku ũmaniine!
12 But God is my king of old, accomplishing deliverances in the midst of the earth.
No rĩrĩ, Wee Ngai, nĩwe mũthamaki wakwa kuuma tene; nĩwĩkaga maũndũ ma kũhonokania gũkũ thĩ.
13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the monsters on the waters:
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wagayanirie iria na ũhoti waku, ũkĩhehenja mĩtwe ya nyamũ iria nene kũu maaĩ-inĩ.
14 Thou didst break in pieces the heads of leviathan, thou gavest him to be meat to those that people the desert.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wahehenjire mĩtwe ya Leviathani, ũkĩmĩheana ĩtuĩke irio cia ciũmbe cia werũ-inĩ.
15 Thou didst cleave fountain and torrent, thou driedst up ever-flowing rivers.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe watũmire ithima itherũke na tũrũũĩ tũtherere, ũkĩhũithia njũũĩ iria itahũaga.
16 The day is thine, the night also is thine; thou hast prepared the moon and the sun:
Mũthenya nĩ waku o na ũtukũ no waku; Wee nĩwe wahaandire riũa na mweri.
17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; summer and winter — thou didst form them.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wekĩrire mĩhaka yothe ya thĩ; nĩwe watũmire kũgĩe hĩndĩ ya riũa na hĩndĩ ya heho.
18 Remember this, that an enemy hath reproached Jehovah, and a foolish people have contemned thy name.
Ririkana ũrĩa thũ ĩkũnyũrũrĩtie, Wee Jehova, na ũrĩa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu macambĩtie rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
19 Give not up the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast; forget not the troop of thine afflicted for ever.
Ndũkaneane muoyo wa ndirahũgĩ yaku kũrĩ nyamũ cia gĩthaka; ndũkariganĩrwo nĩ mĩoyo ya andũ aku arĩa manyariirĩtwo nginya tene.
20 Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the dwellings of violence.
Ririkana kĩrĩkanĩro gĩaku, tondũ kũndũ guothe kũrĩa kũrĩ nduma bũrũri-inĩ kũiyũrĩte haaro.
21 Oh let not the oppressed one return ashamed; let the afflicted and needy praise thy name.
Ndũkareke mũndũ ũrĩa mũhinyĩrĩrie acooke na thuutha aconokete; andũ arĩa athĩĩni na arĩa abatari nĩmagooce rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
22 Rise up, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day;
Arahũka, Wee Ngai, ũrũgamĩrĩre kĩhooto gĩaku; ririkana ũrĩa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu magũthirĩkagia mũthenya wothe.
23 Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: the tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.
Ndũkariganĩrwo nĩ mbugĩrĩrio ya amuku aku, o inegene rĩa thũ ciaku, rĩrĩa iranegena itegũtigithĩria.
