Psalms 66
1 To the chief Musician. A Song: a Psalm. Shout aloud unto God, all the earth:
Pour le chef musicien. Un chant. Un psaume. Poussez des cris de joie vers Dieu, sur toute la terre!
2 Sing forth the glory of his name, make his praise glorious;
Chantez à la gloire de son nom! Offrez la gloire et la louange!
3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy works! because of the greatness of thy strength, thine enemies come cringing unto thee.
Dites à Dieu: « Que tes actes sont impressionnants! Par la grandeur de ta puissance, tes ennemis se soumettent à toi.
4 All the earth shall worship thee, and sing psalms unto thee: they shall sing forth thy name. (Selah)
Toute la terre se prosterne devant toi, et chantera pour vous; ils chanteront ton nom. (Selah)
5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in [his] doings toward the children of men.
Venez, et voyez les actes de Dieu- un travail impressionnant en faveur des enfants des hommes.
6 He turned the sea into dry [land]; they went through the river on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
Il a transformé la mer en terre ferme. Ils ont traversé la rivière à pied. Là, nous nous sommes réjouis en lui.
7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes observe the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. (Selah)
Il domine par sa puissance à jamais. Ses yeux observent les nations. Ne laissez pas les rebelles s'élever contre lui. (Selah)
8 Bless our God, ye peoples, and make the voice of his praise to be heard;
Louez notre Dieu, vous, les peuples! Faites entendre le son de sa louange,
9 Who hath set our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
qui préserve notre vie parmi les vivants, et ne permet pas à nos pieds d'être déplacés.
10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
Car toi, Dieu, tu nous as mis à l'épreuve. Tu nous as affinés, comme on affine l'argent.
11 Thou broughtest us into a net, thou didst lay a heavy burden upon our loins;
Tu nous as mis en prison. Tu as posé un fardeau sur nos épaules.
12 Thou didst cause men to ride over our head; we went through fire and through water: but thou hast brought us out into abundance.
Tu as permis à des hommes de chevaucher au-dessus de nos têtes. Nous sommes passés par le feu et par l'eau, mais vous nous avez amené à l'endroit de l'abondance.
13 I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings; I will perform my vows to thee,
Je viendrai dans ton temple avec des holocaustes. J'accomplirai mes vœux envers toi,
14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
que mes lèvres ont promis, et ma bouche a parlé, quand j'étais dans la détresse.
15 I will offer up unto thee burnt-offerings of fatted beasts, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. (Selah)
Je t'offrirai des holocaustes d'animaux gras, avec l'offrande de béliers, J'offrirai des taureaux avec des chèvres. (Selah)
16 Come, hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Venez et écoutez, vous tous qui craignez Dieu. Je vais déclarer ce qu'il a fait pour mon âme.
17 I called unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
J'ai crié vers lui avec ma bouche. Je l'ai encensé avec ma langue.
18 Had I regarded iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not hear.
Si j'ai chéri le péché dans mon cœur, le Seigneur n'aurait pas écouté.
19 But God hath heard; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
Mais surtout, Dieu a écouté. Il a entendu la voix de ma prière.
20 Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his loving-kindness from me!
Béni soit Dieu, qui n'a pas repoussé ma prière, ni sa gentillesse de ma part.
