Psalms 61

1 To the chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. [A Psalm] of David. Hear, O God, my cry; attend unto my prayer.

Dem Vorsänger. Mit Saitenspiel. Von David. Höre, o Gott, mein Schreien, merke auf mein Gebet!

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: thou wilt lead me on to a rock which is too high for me.

Vom Ende der Erde rufe ich zu dir in der Angst meines Herzens: Führe du mich auf den Felsen, der mir zu hoch ist!

3 For thou hast been a refuge for me, a strong tower from before the enemy.

Denn du bist meine Zuflucht geworden, ein starker Turm vor dem Feind. (Pause)

4 I will sojourn in thy tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

Laß mich ewiglich wohnen in deinem Zelte, mich bergen im Schatten deiner Flügel!

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows; thou hast given [me] the inheritance of those that fear thy name.

Denn du, o Gott, hast auf meine Gelübde gehört, du hast mir das Erbteil derer gegeben, die deinen Namen fürchten.

6 Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years shall be as many generations.

Verleihe dem Könige langes Leben, daß seine Jahre Geschlechter überdauern;

7 He shall abide before God for ever: bestow loving-kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

möge er ewiglich vor Gottes Angesicht bleiben; gib, daß Gnade und Treue ihn behüten!

8 So will I sing forth thy name for ever, performing my vows from day to day.

Also will ich deinen Namen immerdar preisen, um meine Gelübde zu bezahlen Tag für Tag.
