Psalms 61

1 To the chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. [A Psalm] of David. Hear, O God, my cry; attend unto my prayer.

Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen, auf Saitenspiel. Höre, Gott, mein Schreien und merke auf mein Gebet!

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: thou wilt lead me on to a rock which is too high for me.

Hienieden auf Erden rufe ich zu dir, wenn mein Herz in Angst ist, du wollest mich führen auf einen hohen Felsen.

3 For thou hast been a refuge for me, a strong tower from before the enemy.

Denn du bist meine Zuversicht, ein starker Turm vor meinen Feinden.

4 I will sojourn in thy tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

Laß mich wohnen in deiner Hütte ewiglich und Zuflucht haben unter deinen Fittichen. (Sela)

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows; thou hast given [me] the inheritance of those that fear thy name.

Denn du, Gott, hörst mein Gelübde; du belohnst die wohl, die deinen Namen fürchten.

6 Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years shall be as many generations.

Du wollest dem König langes Leben geben, daß seine Jahre währen immer für und für,

7 He shall abide before God for ever: bestow loving-kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

daß er immer bleibe vor Gott. Erzeige ihm Güte und Treue, die ihn behüten.

8 So will I sing forth thy name for ever, performing my vows from day to day.

So will ich deinem Namen lobsingen ewiglich, daß ich meine Gelübde bezahle täglich.
