Psalms 59
1 To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' Of David. Michtam; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; secure me on high from them that rise up against me.
Mai marelui muzician, „Altaschit,” Mictam al lui David; când Saul a trimis și ei au pândit casa, pentru a-l ucide. Eliberează-mă de dușmanii mei, Dumnezeul meu; apără-mă de cei ce se ridică împotriva mea.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from men of blood.
Eliberează-mă de lucrătorii nelegiuirii și salvează-mă de oamenii sângeroși.
3 For behold, they lie in wait for my soul; strong ones are gathered against me: not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.
Căci iată, ei îmi pândesc sufletul, cei tari se adună împotriva mea; nu pentru fărădelegea mea, nici pentru păcatul meu, DOAMNE.
4 They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: awake to meet me, and behold.
Ei aleargă și se pregătesc fără să am vreo vină, ridică-te să mă ajuți și privește.
5 Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. (Selah)
Tu de aceea, DOAMNE Dumnezeul oștirilor, Dumnezeul lui Israel, trezește-te și cercetează pe toți păgânii, nu fi milostiv cu niciun stricat călcător de lege. (Selah)
6 They return in the evening; they howl like a dog, and go round about the city:
Se întorc pe înserat, latră ca un câine și înconjoară cetăți.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who [say they] doth hear?
Privește, ei râgâie cu gura lor, săbii sunt pe buzele lor, căci cine aude, spun ei?
8 But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.
Dar tu, DOAMNE, vei râde de ei; vei lua pe toți păgânii în derâdere.
9 Their strength! ...I will take heed to thee; for God is my high fortress.
Datorită puterii lui te voi aștepta, căci Dumnezeu este apărarea mea.
10 God, whose loving-kindness will come to meet me, — God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies.
Dumnezeul milei mele mă va întâmpina, Dumnezeu mă va lăsa să îmi văd dorința împlinită asupra dușmanilor mei.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget; by thy power make them wander, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.
Nu îi ucide, ca nu cumva poporul meu să uite, împrăștie-i prin puterea ta și doboară-i, Doamne scutul nostru.
12 [Because of] the sin of their mouth, the word of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; and because of cursing and lying which they speak.
Datorită păcatului gurii lor și cuvintelor buzelor lor, și datorită blestemului și minciunii pe care ei le vorbesc, să fie prinși în mândria lor.
13 Make an end in wrath, make an end, that they may be no more; that they may know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. (Selah)
Mistuie-i în furia ta, mistuie-i, ca ei să nu mai fie și să știe că Dumnezeu stăpânește în Iacob până la marginile pământului. (Selah)
14 And in the evening they shall return, they shall howl like a dog, and go round about the city.
Și să se întoarcă pe înserat și să latre ca un câine și să înconjoare cetatea.
15 They shall wander about for meat, and stay all night if they be not satisfied.
Să rătăcească în sus și în jos după mâncare și să poarte pică dacă nu sunt sătui.
16 But as for me, I will sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of thy loving-kindness in the morning; for thou hast been to me a high fortress, and a refuge in the day of my trouble.
Dar eu voi cânta despre puterea ta; da, dimineața, voi cânta despre mila ta, căci ai fost apărarea mea și locul meu de scăpare în ziua tulburării mele.
17 Unto thee, my strength, will I sing psalms; for God is my high fortress, the God of my mercy.
Puterea mea, ție îți voi cânta, căci Dumnezeu este apărarea mea și Dumnezeul milei mele.
