Psalms 50
1 A Psalm. Of Asaph. God, Elohim-Jehovah, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
En psalm av Asaf. Gud, HERREN Gud, talar och kallar jorden, allt mellan öster och väster.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.
Från Sion, skönhetens fullhet, träder Gud fram i glans.
3 Our God will come, and will not keep silence: fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
Vår Gud kommer, och han skall icke tiga. Förtärande eld går framför honom, och omkring honom stormar det med makt.
4 He will call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
Han kallar på himmelen därovan och på jorden, för att döma sitt folk:
5 Gather unto me my godly ones, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice!
»Församlen till mig mina fromma, som sluta förbund med mig vid offer.»
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God executeth judgment himself. (Selah)
Och himlarna förkunna att han är rättfärdig, att Gud är den som skipar rätt. (Sela)
7 Hear, my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, thy God.
Hör, mitt folk, jag vill tala; Israel, låt mig varna dig. Gud, din Gud, är jag.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt-offerings, continually before me;
Icke för dina slaktoffer vill jag gå till rätta med dig; dina brännoffer har jag alltid inför mig.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, [nor] he-goats out of thy folds:
Jag vill icke taga tjurar ur ditt hus eller bockar ur dina fållor;
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle upon a thousand hills;
ty mina äro alla skogens djur, boskapen på de tusende bergen;
11 I know all the fowl of the mountains, and the roaming creatures of the field are mine:
jag känner alla fåglar på bergen, och vad som rör sig på marken är mig bekant.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
Om jag hungrade, skulle jag icke säga dig det; ty min är jordens krets med allt vad därpå är.
13 Should I eat the flesh of bulls, and drink the blood of goats?
Skulle jag äta tjurars kött, och skulle jag dricka bockars blod?
14 Offer unto God thanksgiving, and perform thy vows unto the Most High;
Nej, offra lovets offer åt Gud, så skall du få infria dina löften till den Högste.
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Och åkalla mig i nöden, så vill jag hjälpa dig, och du skall prisa mig.»
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant into thy mouth,
Men till den ogudaktige säger Gud: »Huru kan du tala om mina stadgar och föra mitt förbund på tungan,
17 Seeing thou hast hated correction and hast cast my words behind thee?
du som hatar tuktan och kastar mina ord bakom dig?
18 When thou sawest a thief, thou didst take pleasure in him, and thy portion was with adulterers;
Om du ser en tjuv, så håller du med honom, och med äktenskapsbrytare giver du dig i lag.
19 Thou lettest thy mouth loose to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit;
Din mun släpper du lös till vad ont är, och din tunga hopspinner svek.
20 Thou sittest [and] speakest against thy brother, thou revilest thine own mother's son:
Du sitter där och förtalar din broder, din moders son lastar du!
21 These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.
Så gör du, och jag tiger, och nu tror du att jag är såsom du. Nej, jag vill straffa dig och ställa dig det för ögonen.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear in pieces, and there be no deliverer.
I som förgäten Gud, märken detta, för att jag icke må sönderriva eder utan räddning:
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth [his] way will I shew the salvation of God.
den som offrar lovets offer, han ärar mig; och den som aktar på sin väg, honom skall jag låta se Guds frälsning.»
