Psalms 50
1 A Psalm. Of Asaph. God, Elohim-Jehovah, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
Ein Psalm Asafs. / El Elohim Jahwe: Er redet / Und ruft der Erde d vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zum Niedergang.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.
Aus Zion, der Schönheit Krone, / Strahlt Elohim hervor.
3 Our God will come, and will not keep silence: fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
Unser Gott, er kommt und schweiget nicht. / Verzehrend Feuer geht vor ihm her, / Rings um ihn stürmt es gewaltig.
4 He will call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
Er ruft die Himmel droben herbei. / Und die Erde, sein Volk zu richten:
5 Gather unto me my godly ones, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice!
"Versammelt mir die Frommen, / Die den Bund mit mir im Opfer geschlossen!"
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God executeth judgment himself. (Selah)
Die Himmel künden seine Gerechtigkeit; / Denn Elohim — er ist's, der richtet! (Sela)
7 Hear, my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, thy God.
"Höre, mein Volk, o laß mich reden! / Israel, laß mich dich warnen! / Elohim, dein Gott, bin ich.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt-offerings, continually before me;
Nicht deiner Schlachtopfer wegen rüge ich dich — / Sind doch deine Brandopfer immer vor mir.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, [nor] he-goats out of thy folds:
Nicht brauche ich Stiere aus deinem Hause / Noch Böcke aus deinen Hürden.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle upon a thousand hills;
Denn mein ist alles Wild des Waldes, / Das viele Getier auf den Bergen.
11 I know all the fowl of the mountains, and the roaming creatures of the field are mine:
Ich kenne jeden Vogel der Berge, / Und was auf den Feldern sich regt, ist mein.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
Sollte mich hungern, dir sagte ich's nicht. / Denn mein ist der Erdkreis und was ihn erfüllt.
13 Should I eat the flesh of bulls, and drink the blood of goats?
Esse ich etwa der Stiere Fleisch / Und trink ich der Böcke Blut?
14 Offer unto God thanksgiving, and perform thy vows unto the Most High;
Opfere Elohim Dank / Und bezahle dem Höchsten deine Gelübde!
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
"Rufe mich an am Tage der Not: / Dann will ich dich retten, daß du mich ehrest."
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant into thy mouth,
Aber zum Frevler spricht Elohim: / Wie? du zählst meine Satzungen auf / Und redest von meinem Bund?
17 Seeing thou hast hated correction and hast cast my words behind thee?
Das wagst du und hasset doch Zucht / Und wirfst meine Worte hinter dich?
18 When thou sawest a thief, thou didst take pleasure in him, and thy portion was with adulterers;
Siehst du einen Dieb, so gesellst du dich ihm, / Und mit Ehebrechern gehest du um.
19 Thou lettest thy mouth loose to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit;
Du lässest deinen Mund zum Bösen los, / Und deine Zunge spinnet Trug.
20 Thou sittest [and] speakest against thy brother, thou revilest thine own mother's son:
Mit andern verleumdest du deinen Bruder, / Deiner Mutter Sohn hängst du Schande an.
21 These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.
Das hast du getan, und ich schwieg dazu. / Da dachtest du denn: ich wäre wie du. / Aber ich will dich zur Rechenschaft ziehn, / Dir's unter die Augen stellen."
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear in pieces, and there be no deliverer.
Merkt das wohl, die ihr Gottes vergeßt; / Sonst werd ich zerreißen, und niemand rettet.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth [his] way will I shew the salvation of God.
Wer Dank opfert, der ehret mich recht, / Und er bahnet den Weg, / Auf dem ich ihm zeige das Heil Elohims.
