Psalms 5

1 To the chief Musician. Upon Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O Jehovah; consider my (meditation)

۱ برای سالار مغنیان برذوات نفخه. مزمور داود ای خداوند، به سخنان من گوش بده! درتفکر من تامل فرما!

2 Hearken unto the voice of my crying, my king and my God; for to thee will I pray.

۲ ‌ای پادشاه و خدای من، به آواز فریادم توجه کن زیرا که نزد تو دعامی کنم.

3 Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; in the morning will I address myself to thee, and will look up.

۳ ‌ای خداوند صبحگاهان آواز مراخواهی شنید؛ بامدادان (دعای خود را) نزد توآراسته می‌کنم و انتظار می‌کشم.

4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with thee.

۴ زیرا تو خدایی نیستی که به شرارت راغب باشی، و گناهکار نزدتو ساکن نخواهد شد.

5 Insolent fools shall not stand before thine eyes; thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

۵ متکبران در نظر تونخواهند ایستاد. از همه بطالت کنندگان نفرت می‌کنی.

6 Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth a man of blood and deceit.

۶ دروغ‌گویان را هلاک خواهی ساخت. خداوند شخص خونی و حیله گر را مکروه می‌دارد.

7 But as for me, in the greatness of thy loving-kindness will I enter thy house; I will bow down toward the temple of thy holiness in thy fear.

۷ و اما من از کثرت رحمت تو به خانه ات داخل خواهم شد، و از ترس تو بسوی هیکل قدس تو عبادت خواهم نمود.

8 Lead me, Jehovah, in thy righteousness, because of my foes; make thy way plain before me.

۸ ‌ای خداوند، بسبب دشمنانم مرا به عدالت خود هدایت نما وراه خود را پیش روی من راست گردان.

9 For there is no certainty in their mouth; their inward part is perversion, their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

۹ زیرا در زبان ایشان راستی نیست؛ باطن ایشان محض شرارت است؛ گلوی ایشان قبرگشاده است و زبانهای خود را جلا می‌دهند.

10 Bring guilt upon them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels: drive them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against thee.

۱۰ ‌ای خدا، ایشان را ملزم ساز تا به‌سبب مشورتهای خود بیفتند، و به کثرت خطایای ایشان، ایشان را دور انداز زیرا که بر تو فتنه کرده‌اند،

11 And all that trust in thee shall rejoice: for ever shall they shout joyously, and thou wilt protect them; and they that love thy name shall exult in thee.

۱۱ و همه متوکلانت شادی خواهند کرد و تا به ابد ترنم خواهند نمود. زیرا که ملجاء ایشان تو هستی و آنانی که اسم تو را دوست می‌دارند درتو وجد خواهند نمود.

12 For thou, Jehovah, wilt bless the righteous [man]; with favour wilt thou surround him as [with] a shield.

۱۲ زیرا تو‌ای خداوند مردعادل را برکت خواهی داد، او را به رضامندی مثل سپر احاطه خواهی نمود.
