Psalms 5
1 To the chief Musician. Upon Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O Jehovah; consider my (meditation)
Pour le chef musicien, avec les flûtes. Un psaume de David. Écoute mes paroles, Yahvé. Considérez ma méditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my crying, my king and my God; for to thee will I pray.
Écoute la voix de mon cri, mon roi et mon Dieu, car je te prie.
3 Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; in the morning will I address myself to thee, and will look up.
Yahvé, au matin, tu entendras ma voix. Le matin, je te présenterai mes demandes et je veillerai.
4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with thee.
Car tu n'es pas un Dieu qui prend plaisir à la méchanceté. Le mal ne peut pas vivre avec toi.
5 Insolent fools shall not stand before thine eyes; thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
L'arrogant ne tiendra pas devant toi. Vous détestez tous les travailleurs de l'iniquité.
6 Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies: Jehovah abhorreth a man of blood and deceit.
Tu détruiras ceux qui disent des mensonges. Yahvé a horreur de l'homme sanguinaire et trompeur.
7 But as for me, in the greatness of thy loving-kindness will I enter thy house; I will bow down toward the temple of thy holiness in thy fear.
Quant à moi, dans l'abondance de ta bonté, j'entrerai dans ta maison. Je me prosternerai devant ton temple saint en signe de respect pour toi.
8 Lead me, Jehovah, in thy righteousness, because of my foes; make thy way plain before me.
Conduis-moi, Yahvé, dans ta justice, à cause de mes ennemis. Fais ton chemin droit devant moi.
9 For there is no certainty in their mouth; their inward part is perversion, their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
Car il n'y a pas de fidélité dans leur bouche. Leur cœur est la destruction. Leur gorge est une tombe ouverte. Ils flattent avec leur langue.
10 Bring guilt upon them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels: drive them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against thee.
Tiens-les pour coupables, Dieu. Laissez-les tomber par leurs propres conseils. Jetez-les dehors dans la multitude de leurs transgressions, car ils se sont rebellés contre toi.
11 And all that trust in thee shall rejoice: for ever shall they shout joyously, and thou wilt protect them; and they that love thy name shall exult in thee.
Mais que tous ceux qui se réfugient en toi se réjouissent. Qu'ils crient toujours de joie, parce que tu les défends. Que ceux qui aiment ton nom soient aussi joyeux en toi.
12 For thou, Jehovah, wilt bless the righteous [man]; with favour wilt thou surround him as [with] a shield.
Car tu béniras les justes. Yahvé, tu l'entoureras de faveurs comme d'un bouclier.
