< Psalms 49 >

1 To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world:
Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo. Koramma dwom. Muntie, mo saa nnipa yi nyinaa; monyɛ aso, mo a mowɔ wiase yi mu nyinaa,
2 Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.
nea ɔyɛ abomfiaa ne nea odi mu, adefo ne ahiafo nyinaa.
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:
Mʼano bɛka anyansasɛm; nsɛm a efi me koma mu bɛma nhumu.
4 I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.
Mɛbrɛ mʼaso ase atie mmebusɛm; na sanku na mede bɛkyerɛ mʼabisae ase.
5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, [when] the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me? —
Adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ misuro, bere a nna bɔne aba, bere a amumɔyɛfo nnaadaafo atwa me ho ahyia,
6 They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. ...
wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wɔn ahonya so na wɔde wɔn ade dodow hoahoa wɔn ho?
7 None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,
Onipa biara rentumi nnye ne yɔnko nkwa na ɔrentumi mfa mpata biara mma Onyankopɔn,
8 (For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be given up for ever, )
nkwa ho mpata bo yɛ den, akatua biara renso,
9 That he should still live perpetually, [and] not see corruption.
sɛ ɛbɛma no atena ase afebɔɔ a ɔrenhu porɔwee.
10 For he seeth that wise men die; all alike, the fool and the brutish perish, and they leave their wealth to others.
Obiara nim pefee sɛ anyansafo wu; saa ara na nkwaseafo ne agyimifo nso wu, na wogyaw wɔn ahonya hɔ ma afoforo.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses are for ever, their dwelling-places from generation to generation: they call the lands after their own names.
Wɔn nna bɛyɛ wɔn afi afebɔɔ, wɔn atenae wɔ awo ntoatoaso bere a enni awiei mu, ɛmfa ho sɛ wɔde wɔn din atoto nsase so.
12 Nevertheless, man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
Na onipa ahonya nyinaa akyi no, ɔrentena hɔ daa; ɔte sɛ mmoa a wowu no ara.
13 This their way is their folly, yet they that come after them delight in their sayings. (Selah)
Eyi ne nea ɛda hɔ ma wɔn a wogye wɔn ho di, ne wɔn akyidifo a wɔfoa wɔn nsɛm so.
14 Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them. (Sheol h7585)
Wɔte sɛ nguan, na wɔbɛkɔ ɔda mu, na owu de wɔn bɛyɛ nʼaduan. Atreneefo bedi wɔn so anɔpa; wɔn nipadua bɛporɔw wɔ ɔda mu, na wɔne wɔn adan akɛse no ntam akwan bɛware. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Nanso Onyankopɔn begye me afi ɔda mu; ampa ara, ɔde me bɛkɔ ne nkyɛn. (Sheol h7585)
16 Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased:
Sɛ onipa nya ne ho a, mma ɛnnhaw wo; na sɛ ne fi anigye yɛ bebree a, mma ɛnnhaw wo;
17 For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him.
efisɛ, sɛ owu a ɔremmfa hwee nkɔ, nʼanuonyam ne no renkɔ amoa mu.
18 Though he blessed his soul in his lifetime, — and men will praise thee when thou doest well to thyself, —
Mpo ɔte ase no, ɔfaa no sɛ wɔahyira no, efisɛ wɔkamfo nnipa bere a wodi yiye,
19 It shall go to the generation of his fathers: they shall never see light.
nanso ɔbɛkɔ akɔka nʼagyanom ho, wɔn a wɔrenhu nkwa hann ara da no.
20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
Onipa a ɔwɔ ahonya na onni nhumu no te sɛ mmoa a wowu.
