Psalms 40
1 To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm. I waited patiently for Jehovah; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
१प्रधान बजानेवाले के लिये दाऊद का भजन मैं धीरज से यहोवा की बाट जोहता रहा; और उसने मेरी ओर झुककर मेरी दुहाई सुनी।
2 And he brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock; he hath established my goings:
२उसने मुझे सत्यानाश के गड्ढे और दलदल की कीच में से उबारा, और मुझ को चट्टान पर खड़ा करके मेरे पैरों को दृढ़ किया है।
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, praise unto our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall confide in Jehovah.
३उसने मुझे एक नया गीत सिखाया जो हमारे परमेश्वर की स्तुति का है। बहुत लोग यह देखेंगे और उसकी महिमा करेंगे, और यहोवा पर भरोसा रखेंगे।
4 Blessed is the man that hath made Jehovah his confidence, and turneth not to the proud, and to such as turn aside to lies.
४क्या ही धन्य है वह पुरुष, जो यहोवा पर भरोसा करता है, और अभिमानियों और मिथ्या की ओर मुड़नेवालों की ओर मुँह न फेरता हो।
5 Thou, O Jehovah my God, hast multiplied thy marvellous works, and thy thoughts toward us: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee; would I declare and speak [them], they are more than can be numbered.
५हे मेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा, तूने बहुत से काम किए हैं! जो आश्चर्यकर्मों और विचार तू हमारे लिये करता है वह बहुत सी हैं; तेरे तुल्य कोई नहीं! मैं तो चाहता हूँ कि खोलकर उनकी चर्चा करूँ, परन्तु उनकी गिनती नहीं हो सकती।
6 Sacrifice and oblation thou didst not desire: ears hast thou prepared me. Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not demanded;
६मेलबलि और अन्नबलि से तू प्रसन्न नहीं होता तूने मेरे कान खोदकर खोले हैं। होमबलि और पापबलि तूने नहीं चाहा।
7 Then said I, Behold, I come, in the volume of the book it is written of me —
७तब मैंने कहा, “देख, मैं आया हूँ; क्योंकि पुस्तक में मेरे विषय ऐसा ही लिखा हुआ है।
8 To do thy good pleasure, my God, is my delight, and thy law is within my heart.
८हे मेरे परमेश्वर, मैं तेरी इच्छा पूरी करने से प्रसन्न हूँ; और तेरी व्यवस्था मेरे अन्तःकरण में बसी है।”
9 I have published righteousness in the great congregation: behold, I have not withheld my lips, Jehovah, thou knowest.
९मैंने बड़ी सभा में धार्मिकता के शुभ समाचार का प्रचार किया है; देख, मैंने अपना मुँह बन्द नहीं किया हे यहोवा, तू इसे जानता है।
10 I have not hidden thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
१०मैंने तेरी धार्मिकता मन ही में नहीं रखा; मैंने तेरी सच्चाई और तेरे किए हुए उद्धार की चर्चा की है; मैंने तेरी करुणा और सत्यता बड़ी सभा से गुप्त नहीं रखी।
11 Withhold not thou, Jehovah, thy tender mercies from me; let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
११हे यहोवा, तू भी अपनी बड़ी दया मुझ पर से न हटा ले, तेरी करुणा और सत्यता से निरन्तर मेरी रक्षा होती रहे!
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head: and my heart hath failed me.
१२क्योंकि मैं अनगिनत बुराइयों से घिरा हुआ हूँ; मेरे अधर्म के कामों ने मुझे आ पकड़ा और मैं दृष्टि नहीं उठा सकता; वे गिनती में मेरे सिर के बालों से भी अधिक हैं; इसलिए मेरा हृदय टूट गया।
13 Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me; Jehovah, make haste to my help.
१३हे यहोवा, कृपा करके मुझे छुड़ा ले! हे यहोवा, मेरी सहायता के लिये फुर्ती कर!
14 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be turned backward and confounded that take pleasure in mine adversity;
१४जो मेरे प्राण की खोज में हैं, वे सब लज्जित हों; और उनके मुँह काले हों और वे पीछे हटाए और निरादर किए जाएँ जो मेरी हानि से प्रसन्न होते हैं।
15 Let them be desolate, because of their shame, that say unto me, Aha! Aha!
१५जो मुझसे, “आहा, आहा,” कहते हैं, वे अपनी लज्जा के मारे विस्मित हों।
16 Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee; let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified!
१६परन्तु जितने तुझे ढूँढ़ते हैं, वह सब तेरे कारण हर्षित और आनन्दित हों; जो तेरा किया हुआ उद्धार चाहते हैं, वे निरन्तर कहते रहें, “यहोवा की बड़ाई हो!”
17 But I am afflicted and needy: the Lord thinketh upon me. Thou art my help and my deliverer: my God, make no delay.
१७मैं तो दीन और दरिद्र हूँ, तो भी प्रभु मेरी चिन्ता करता है। तू मेरा सहायक और छुड़ानेवाला है; हे मेरे परमेश्वर विलम्ब न कर।
