Psalms 31
1 To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David. In thee, Jehovah, do I trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
Dem Sangmeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Auf Dich, Jehovah, verlasse ich mich, lasse nimmermehr mich beschämt werden! Befreie mich in Deiner Gerechtigkeit.
2 Incline thine ear to me, deliver me speedily; be a strong rock to me, a house of defence to save me.
Neige Dein Ohr zu mir, errette mich in Eile. Sei mir ein Fels der Stärke, zum Haus der Feste, mich zu retten.
3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; and, for thy name's sake, thou wilt lead me and guide me.
Denn mein Hort und meine Feste bist Du. Und um Deines Namens willen führe und geleite mich!
4 Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength.
Bring aus dem Netz mich heraus, das sie mir hehlings stellten; denn Du bist meine Stärke.
5 Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah, [thou] God of truth.
In Deine Hand bestelle ich meinen Geist. Du hast erlöst mich, Jehovah, Gott der Wahrheit.
6 I have hated them that observe lying vanities; and as for me, I have confided in Jehovah.
Ich hasse, die auf nichtige Eitelkeiten halten, ich aber vertraue auf Jehovah.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy loving-kindness, for thou hast seen mine affliction; thou hast known the troubles of my soul,
Frohlocken will ich und fröhlich sein, ob Deiner Barmherzigkeit, daß Du mein Elend gesehen, und meine Seele in ihren Drangsalen erkannt hast;
8 And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large place.
Und mich nicht in Feindeshand überantwortet, und meine Füße im Weiten stehen ließest.
9 Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am in trouble: mine eye wasteth away with vexation, my soul and my belly.
Sei mir gnädig, Jehovah; denn ich bin in Drangsal; vor Unmut verschmachtet mein Auge, meine Seele und mein Leib.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength faileth through mine iniquity, and my bones are wasted.
Denn das Leben ist vor Gram mir verzehrt und meine Jahre vor Seufzen; es strauchelt meine Kraft ob meiner Missetat, und meine Gebeine verschmachten.
11 More than to all mine oppressors, I am become exceedingly a reproach, even to my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that see me without flee from me.
Vor all meinen Drängern bin ich eine Schmach geworden auch meinen Nachbarn sehr, und zum Schauer meinen Bekannten. Die mich draußen sehen, entfliehen vor mir.
12 I am forgotten in [their] heart as a dead man; I am become like a broken vessel.
Vergessen bin ich aus dem Herzen wie ein Toter, geworden wie ein verkommenes Geschirr.
13 For I have heard the slander of many — terror on every side — when they take counsel together against me: they plot to take away my life.
Denn vieler Gerede hörte ich, Bangen ringsumher, wie sie heimlich zusammen wider mich ratschlagen und darauf sinnen, mir die Seele zu nehmen.
14 But I confided in thee, Jehovah; I said, thou art my God.
Ich aber traue auf Dich, Jehovah; spreche: Mein Gott bist Du!
15 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from my persecutors.
In Deiner Hand sind meine Zeiten! Errette mich aus der Hand meiner Feinde und derer, die mich verfolgen.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; save me in thy loving-kindness.
Dein Angesicht leuchte über Deinen Knecht. Hilf mir nach Deiner Barmherzigkeit.
17 Jehovah, let me not be ashamed; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Jehovah, laß mich nicht beschämt werden, weil ich Dich anrufe. Die Ungerechten laß beschämt werden, gestillt werden in der Hölle. (Sheol h7585)
18 Let the lying lips become dumb, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.
Die lügenden Lippen lasse verstummen, die Freches reden wider den Gerechten in Übermut und Verachtung.
19 [Oh] how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, [which] thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee, before the sons of men!
Wie groß ist Deine Güte, die Du geborgen hast für die, so Dich fürchten, und tust an denen, die sich auf Dich verlassen vor den Söhnen des Menschen.
20 Thou keepest them concealed in the secret of thy presence from the conspiracies of man; thou hidest them in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
In der Heimlichkeit Deines Angesichts verbirgst Du sie vor den Überhebungen des Mannes; in Deiner Hütte birgst Du sie vor der Zungen Hader.
21 Blessed be Jehovah; for he hath shewn me wondrously his loving-kindness in a strong city.
Gesegnet sei Jehovah, daß Er wunderbar gemacht Seine Barmherzigkeit in der Stadt der Bedrängnis.
22 As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
Ich aber sprach in meiner Eilfertigkeit: Ich bin entrückt aus Deinen Augen; doch Du hörtest meines Flehens Stimme, da ich zu Dir aufschrie.
23 Love Jehovah, all ye his saints. Jehovah preserveth the faithful, and plentifully requiteth the proud doer.
Liebet Jehovah, alle Seine Heiligen. Die Treuen bewahrt Jehovah und vergilt im Übermaß dem, der Übermut tut.
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye that hope in Jehovah.
Seid fest und euer Herz sei unverzagt, alle, die ihr auf Jehovah wartet.
