Psalms 2
1 Why are the nations in tumultuous agitation, and [why] do the peoples meditate a vain thing?
Kwa nini mataifa wanafanya dhoruba, kwa nini watu wanafanya njama ambazo zitafeli?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the princes plot together, against Jehovah and against his anointed:
Wafalme wa nchi kwa pamoja hushikilia misimamo yao na watawala kwa pamoja hufanya njama kinyume na Yahwe na kinyume na Masihi, wakisema,
3 Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their cords from us!
“Ngoja tuzikate pingu walizo tufingia sisi na kuzitupa pingu zao.”
4 He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision.
Yeye aketie katika mbingu atacheka kwa dharau mbele yao; Bwana atawadhihaki wao.
5 Then will he speak to them in his anger, and in his fierce displeasure will he terrify them:
Kisha ataongea nao katika hasira yake na kuwaogofya kwa gadhabu yake, akisema,
6 And I have anointed my king upon Zion, the hill of my holiness.
“Mimi mwenyewe nilimpaka mafuta mfalme wa Sayuni, mlima wangu mtakatifu.”
7 I will declare the decree: Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; I this day have begotten thee.
Nami nitatangaza amri ya Yahwe. Yeye aliniambia, “wewe ni mwanangu! Leo hii nimekuwa baba yako.
8 Ask of me, and I will give thee nations for an inheritance, and for thy possession the ends of the earth:
Uniombe, nami nitakupa wewe taifa kwa ajili ya urithi na mikoa ya nchi iliyo bora kwa ajili ya umiliki wako.
9 Thou shalt break them with a sceptre of iron, as a potter's vessel thou shalt dash them in pieces.
Wewe utawavunja wao kwa fimbo ya chuma; kama vile mtungi wa mfinyanzi, wewe utawavunja wao vipande vipande.”
10 And now, O kings, be ye wise, be admonished, ye judges of the earth.
Hivyo sasa, ninyi wafalme; mchukue tahadhari; mjirekebishe.
11 Serve Jehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Mwabuduni Yahwe kwa hofu na mfurahi mkitetemeka.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his anger burn but a little. Blessed are all who have their trust in him.
Mumbusu mwana vinginevyo atawakasirikia, na mtakufa pale pale hasira yake ikiwaka. Ni jinsi gani wamebarikiwa wale wote watafutao usalama ndani yake.
