Psalms 17

1 A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer, which is not out of feigned lips.

Escucha mi causa justa; oh Señor, presta atención a mi clamor; escucha mi oración que no sale de los labios mentirosos.

2 Let my judgment come forth from thy presence, let thine eyes regard equity.

Sé mi juez; tu sabes y ves lo que es correcto.

3 Thou hast proved my heart, thou hast visited me by night; thou hast tried me, thou hast found nothing: my thought goeth not beyond my word.

Has puesto mi corazón a prueba, me has visitado en la noche; me has puesto a prueba y no has visto ningún mal propósito en mí; Mantendré mi boca del pecado.

4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent [man].

En cuanto a las obras de los hombres, por la palabra de tus labios me he guardado de los caminos de los violentos.

5 When thou holdest my goings in thy paths, my footsteps slip not.

Sustenta mis pasos en tus caminos, para que mis pies no resbalen.

6 I have called upon thee, for thou answerest me, O God. Incline thine ear unto me, hear my speech.

Mi clamor ha subido a ti, porque tú me darás una respuesta, oh Dios; vuelve tu oído hacia mí, y presta atención a mis palabras.

7 Shew wondrously thy loving-kindnesses, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].

Deja en claro la maravilla de tu misericordia, oh salvador de los que ponen su fe en tu diestra, de los que salen en contra de ellos.

8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

Guárdame como la niña de tus ojos, cubriéndome con la sombra de tus alas,

9 From the wicked that destroy me, my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

De los malvados que me atacan, y de los que están a mi alrededor, deseando mi muerte.

10 They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.

Son orgullosos, con sus bocas hablan arrogantemente.

11 They have now encompassed us in our steps; their eyes have they set, bowing down to the earth.

Han cercado nuestros pasos: sus ojos están fijos en nosotros, esperando el momento de echarnos por tierra;

12 He is like a lion that is greedy of its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.

Como un león feroz que desea su alimento, y como un leoncillo que espera con ansias dar el zarpazo en lugares secretos.

13 Arise, Jehovah, anticipate him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, thy sword;

Levántate Señor, enfréntate con ellos, humillalos, con tu espada sé mi salvador del malhechor.

14 From men [who are] thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in [this] life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their children.

Con tu mano, oh Jehová, de hombres, hombres del mundo, cuya herencia está en esta vida, y de los cuales sacias con sus riquezas; cuyo vientre está lleno de su tesoro, sacian a sus hijos; y aún sobra para su descendencia después de su muerte.

15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

En cuanto a mí, veré tu rostro en justicia; cuando esté despierto, me alegrará ver tu cara.
