Psalms 148
1 Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah from the heavens; praise him in the heights.
Alleluia. Laudate Dominum de cælis: laudate eum in excelsis.
2 Praise ye him, all his angels; praise ye him, all his hosts.
Laudate eum omnes angeli eius: laudate eum omnes virtutes eius.
3 Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all ye stars of light.
Laudate eum sol et luna: laudate eum omnes stellæ, et lumen.
4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that are above the heavens.
Laudate eum cæli cælorum: et aquæ omnes, quæ super cælos sunt,
5 Let them praise the name of Jehovah, for he it is that commanded, and they were created:
laudent nomen Domini. Quia ipse dixit, et facta sunt: ipse mandavit, et creata sunt.
6 And he established them for ever and ever; he made [for them] a statute which shall not pass.
Statuit ea in æternum, et in sæculum sæculi: præceptum posuit, et non præteribit.
7 Praise Jehovah from the earth, ye sea-monsters, and all deeps;
Laudate Dominum de terra, dracones, et omnes abyssi.
8 Fire and hail, snow and vapour, stormy wind fulfilling his word;
Ignis, grando, nix, glacies, spiritus procellarum: quæ faciunt verbum eius:
9 Mountains and all hills, fruit-trees and all cedars;
Montes, et omnes colles: ligna fructifera, et omnes cedri.
10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and winged fowl;
Bestiæ, et universa pecora: serpentes, et volucres pennatæ:
11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all judges of the earth;
Reges terræ, et omnes populi: principes, et omnes iudices terræ.
12 Both young men and maidens, old men with youths, —
Iuvenes, et virgines: senes cum iunioribus laudent nomen Domini:
13 Let them praise the name of Jehovah: for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above the earth and the heavens.
quia exaltatum est nomen eius solius.
14 And he hath lifted up the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints, [even] of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Hallelujah!
Confessio eius super cælum, et terram: et exaltavit cornu populi sui. Hymnus omnibus sanctis eius: filiis Israel, populo appropinquanti sibi. Alleluia.
