Psalms 146

1 Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.

Hvalite Gospoda. Hvali Gospoda, oh moja duša.

2 As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.

Medtem ko živim, bom hvalil Gospoda; medtem ko imam kakršen koli obstoj, bom prepeval hvalnice svojemu Bogu.

3 Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

Svojega trdnega upanja ne polagaj v prince niti v človeškega sina, v katerem ni pomoči.

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.

Njegov dih gre dalje, vrača se k svoji zemlji; na ta isti dan propadejo njegove misli.

5 Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

Srečen je tisti, ki ima za svojo pomoč Jakobovega Boga, katerega upanje je v Gospodu, njegovemu Bogu,

6 Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

ki je naredil nebo in zemljo, morje in vse, kar je tam notri, ki na veke ohranja resnico,

7 Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

ki izvršuje sodbo za zatiranega, ki daje hrano lačnemu. Gospod osvobaja jetnike,

8 Jehovah openeth [the eyes of] the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

Gospod slepim odpira oči, Gospod dviguje tiste, ki so sklonjeni, Gospod ljubi pravične,

9 Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.

Gospod varuje tujce in podpira osirotelega in vdovo, toda pot zlobnih postavlja na glavo.

10 Jehovah will reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Hallelujah!

Gospod bo kraljeval na veke, celó tvoj Bog, oh Sion, vsem rodovom. Hvalite Gospoda.
