Psalms 143
1 A Psalm of David. Jehovah, hear my prayer; give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, in thy righteousness.
Psaume de David. Éternel, écoute ma requête; prête l'oreille à mes supplications. Réponds-moi, dans ta fidélité, dans ta justice!
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant; for in thy sight no man living shall be justified.
N'entre pas en jugement avec ton serviteur; Car nul homme vivant ne peut être trouvé juste devant toi.
3 For the enemy persecuteth my soul: he hath crushed my life down to the earth; he hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
L'ennemi en veut à ma vie; Il m'a déjà terrassé; Il m'a plongé dans les ténèbres. Comme ceux qui sont morts depuis longtemps.
4 And my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
Je sens mon esprit défaillir en moi; Mon coeur est tout troublé au dedans de moi.
5 I remember the days of old: I meditate on all thy doing; I muse on the work of thy hands.
Je me souviens des jours d'autrefois; Je médite tout ce que tu as fait; Je pense aux oeuvres de tes mains.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul, as a parched land, [thirsteth] after thee. (Selah)
J'étends mes mains vers toi; Mon âme a soif de toi; elle est comme une terre altérée. (Pause)
7 Answer me speedily, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, or I shall be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Éternel, hâte-toi de me répondre! Mon esprit se consume. Ne me cache pas ta face, Afin que je ne devienne pas semblable A ceux qui descendent dans la tombe!
8 Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning, for in thee do I confide; make me to know the way wherein I should walk, for unto thee do I lift up my soul.
Fais-moi éprouver dès le matin ta bonté; Car j'ai mis en toi ma confiance. Montre-moi le chemin où je dois marcher; Car j'ai élevé mon âme vers toi.
9 Deliver me, O Jehovah, from mine enemies: unto thee do I flee for refuge.
Éternel, délivre-moi de mes ennemis; Je cherche un asile auprès de toi!
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: let thy good Spirit lead me in a plain country.
Enseigne-moi à faire ta volonté; Car tu es mon Dieu. Que ton bon Esprit me conduise dans un chemin facile!
11 Revive me, O Jehovah, for thy name's sake; in thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble;
Éternel, rends-moi la vie pour l'amour de ton nom; Dans ta justice, retire mon âme de la détresse.
12 And in thy loving-kindness cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that oppress my soul: for I am thy servant.
Dans ta bonté, extermine mes ennemis, Et détruis tous ceux qui me persécutent; Car je suis ton serviteur!
