Psalms 137

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down; yea, we wept when we remembered Zion.

౧మనం బబులోను నదుల దగ్గర కూర్చుని ఏడుస్తూ సీయోనును జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకున్నాం.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

౨అక్కడ ఉన్న నిరవంజి చెట్ల కొమ్మలకు మన తంతివాయిద్యాలు తగిలించాం.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that made us wail [required] mirth, [saying, ] Sing us [one] of the songs of Zion.

౩మనలను బందీలుగా పట్టుకుని హింసిస్తున్నవాళ్ళు సీయోను కీర్తనల్లో ఒక పాట పాడండి, మేము విని ఆనందిస్తాం అన్నారు.

4 How should we sing a song of Jehovah's upon a foreign soil?

౪మనం అన్యుల దేశంలో ఉంటూ యెహోవా కీర్తనలు ఎలా పాడగలం?

5 If I forget thee, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [its skill];

౫యెరూషలేమా, నేను నిన్ను మరచిపోతే నా కుడి చెయ్యి తన నైపుణ్యాన్ని కోల్పోతుంది గాక.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to my palate: if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

౬నేను నిన్ను జ్ఞాపకం ఉంచుకోకపోతే, నాకున్న మహానంద కారణాలకు మించి యెరూషలేమును ప్రాముఖ్యమైనదిగా ఎంచకపోతే నా నాలుక నా అంగిటికి అంటుకుంటుంది గాక.

7 Remember, O Jehovah, against the sons of Edom, the day of Jerusalem; who said, Lay [it] bare, Lay [it] bare, down to its foundation!

౭యెహోవా, ఎదోము ప్రజలు ఏమి చేశారో జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకో. యెరూషలేము పాడైపోయిన రోజులను జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకో. దాన్ని నాశనం చేయండి, సమూలంగా ధ్వంసం చెయ్యండి, అని వాళ్ళు చాటింపు వేశారు గదా.

8 Daughter of Babylon, who art to be laid waste, happy he that rendereth unto thee that which thou hast meted out to us.

౮నాశనం అయ్యేందుకు సిద్ధంగా ఉన్న బబులోను కుమారీ, నువ్వు మా పట్ల జరిగించిన దుష్ట క్రియలను బట్టి నీకు ప్రతీకారం చేయబోయేవాడు ధన్యుడు.

9 Happy he that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.

౯నీ పసిపిల్లలను పట్టుకుని బండ కేసి కొట్టేవాడు ధన్యుడు.
