Psalms 137

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down; yea, we wept when we remembered Zion.

१आम्ही बाबेलाच्या नद्यांजवळ खाली बसलो; आणि जेव्हा आम्ही सियोनेविषयी विचार केला तेव्हा रडलो.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

२तेथील वाळुंजावर आम्ही आमच्या वीणा टांगल्या.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that made us wail [required] mirth, [saying, ] Sing us [one] of the songs of Zion.

३तेथे आम्हास पकडणाऱ्यांनी आम्हास गाणी गावयाला सांगितले आणि आमची थट्टा करणाऱ्यांनी आम्ही त्यांच्यासाठी करमणूक करावी म्हणून आम्हांस म्हणाले, सीयोनाच्या गाण्यांतले एखादे गाणे आम्हांला गाऊन दाखवा.

4 How should we sing a song of Jehovah's upon a foreign soil?

४परक्या देशात आम्ही परमेश्वराचे गाणे कसे गावे?

5 If I forget thee, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [its skill];

५हे यरूशलेमे, मी जर तुला विसरलो, तर माझा उजवा हात आपले कौशल्य विसरो.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to my palate: if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

६जर मी तुला विसरलो, जर मी यरूशलेमेला आपल्या आनंदाच्या मुख्य विषयाहून अधिक मानले नाही तर माझी जीभ माझ्या टाळूला चिकटो.

7 Remember, O Jehovah, against the sons of Edom, the day of Jerusalem; who said, Lay [it] bare, Lay [it] bare, down to its foundation!

७हे परमेश्वरा, अदोमाविरूद्ध यरूशलेमेच्या त्या दिवसाची आठवण कर, ते म्हणाले, ती पाडून टाका, पायापर्यंत पाडून टाका.

8 Daughter of Babylon, who art to be laid waste, happy he that rendereth unto thee that which thou hast meted out to us.

८हे बाबेलाच्या कन्ये, तू लवकरच ओसाड पडणार आहेस, कारण जसे तू आम्हास केले तसे, जो तुला परत करील तो आशीर्वादित आहे.

9 Happy he that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the rock.

९जो तुझी बालके घेऊन त्यांना खडकावर आपटून ठार मारतो तो आशीर्वादित होईल.
