Psalms 121

1 A Song of degrees. I lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: whence shall my help come?

Ein Stufenlied. / Ich hebe meine Augen zu den Bergen: / Woher wird mir Hilfe kommen?

2 My help [cometh] from Jehovah, who made the heavens and the earth.

Meine Hilfe kommt von Jahwe, / Der Himmel und Erde geschaffen hat.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Wird er deinen Fuß wohl wanken lassen? / Wird etwa dein Hüter schlummern?

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Sieh, nicht wird schlummern oder gar schlafen / Israels Hüter.

5 Jehovah is thy keeper, Jehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand;

Jahwe ist dein Hüter, / Jahwe ist dein Schatten über deiner rechten Hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

Tagsüber wird dich die Sonne nicht stechen / Und der Mond nicht des Nachts.

7 Jehovah will keep thee from all evil; he will keep thy soul.

Jahwe wird dich behüten vor allem Übel, / Er wird deine Seele behüten.

8 Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in, from henceforth and for evermore.

Jahwe wird deinen Ausgang und Eingang behüten / Von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.
