< Psalms 12 >
1 To the chief Musician. Upon Sheminith. A Psalm of David. Save, Jehovah, for the godly man is gone; for the faithful have failed from among the children of men.
Thaburi ya Daudi Jehova, tũteithie, nĩgũkorwo andũ arĩa etigĩri Ngai nĩmaniinĩtwo; andũ arĩa ehokeku nĩmathirĩte makoima gatagatĩ-inĩ ka andũ.
2 They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour: [with] flattering lip, with a double heart, do they speak.
O mũndũ aheenagia mũndũ wa itũũra rĩake; mĩromo yao ya ũhinga yaragia maheeni.
3 Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things,
Jehova aroeheria mĩromo yothe ya ũhinga, o na nĩmĩ ciothe iria ciaragia na mwĩgaatho,
4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail, our lips are our own: who [is] lord over us?
iria ciugaga atĩrĩ, “Tũkũhootana nĩ ũndũ wa nĩmĩ ciitũ; mĩromo ĩno tũrĩ nayo nĩ iitũ; mwathi witũ akĩrĩ ũ?”
5 Because of the oppression of the afflicted, because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith Jehovah, I will set [him] in safety, at whom they puff.
“Tondũ wa kũhinyĩrĩrio kwa andũ arĩa matarĩ hinya, na gũcaaya kwa arĩa abatari-rĩ, rĩu nĩngwarahũka,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga. “Nĩngũmagitĩra kuuma kũrĩ andũ arĩa mamacambagia.”
6 The words of Jehovah are pure words, silver tried in the furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Nacio ciugo cia Jehova itirĩ mahĩtia, ihaana ta betha ĩthereirio kĩrugutĩro-inĩ kĩa rĩũmba, ĩtheretio maita mũgwanja.
7 Thou, Jehovah, wilt keep them, thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.
Wee Jehova nĩũrĩtũmenyagĩrĩra wega, na ũtũgitagĩre kuuma kũrĩ andũ ta acio nginya tene.
8 The wicked walk about on every side, when vileness is exalted among the children of men.
Andũ arĩa aaganu macangacangaga marĩ na mwĩtĩĩo, rĩrĩa ũndũ ũrĩa mũũru ũragathĩrĩrio nĩ andũ.
