Psalms 112

1 Hallelujah! Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Hvalite Gospoda. Blagoslovljen je človek, ki se boji Gospoda, ki se silno razveseljuje v njegovih zapovedih.

2 His seed shall be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Njegovo seme na zemlji bo mogočno; rod iskrenih bo blagoslovljen.

3 Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house; and his righteousness abideth for ever.

Premoženje in bogastva bodo v njegovi hiši in njegova pravičnost traja za vedno.

4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

Iskrenemu v temi vstaja svetloba; milostljiv je, poln sočutja in pravičen.

5 It is well with the man that is gracious and lendeth; he will sustain his cause in judgment.

Dober človek kaže naklonjenost in posoja; svoje zadeve bo usmerjal s preudarnostjo.

6 For he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Zagotovo ne bo omajan na veke, pravični bo v večnem spominu.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed confiding in Jehovah;

Ne bo se bal zlih sporočil; njegovo srce je trdno, zaupa v Gospoda.

8 His heart is maintained, he is not afraid, until he see [his desire] upon his oppressors.

Njegovo srce je utrjeno, ne bo se bal, dokler ne opazi svoje želje na svojih sovražnikih.

9 He scattereth abroad, he giveth to the needy; his righteousness abideth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour.

Razdelil je, dal je ubogim; njegova pravičnost traja za vedno; njegov rog bo povišan s častjo.

10 The wicked [man] shall see [it] and be vexed; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Zlobni bo to videl in bo užaloščen, škripal bo s svojimi zobmi in pešal. Želja zlobnega bo izginila.
