Psalms 107
1 Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever.
Bersyukurlah kepada TUHAN, sebab Ia baik! Bahwasanya untuk selama-lamanya kasih setia-Nya.
2 Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,
Biarlah itu dikatakan orang-orang yang ditebus TUHAN, yang ditebus-Nya dari kuasa yang menyesakkan,
3 And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.
yang dikumpulkan-Nya dari negeri-negeri, dari timur dan dari barat, dari utara dan dari selatan.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;
Ada orang-orang yang mengembara di padang belantara, jalan ke kota tempat kediaman orang tidak mereka temukan;
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:
mereka lapar dan haus, jiwa mereka lemah lesu di dalam diri mereka.
6 Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses,
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan dilepaskan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka.
7 And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
Dibawa-Nya mereka menempuh jalan yang lurus, sehingga sampai ke kota tempat kediaman orang.
8 Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia,
9 For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.
sebab dipuaskan-Nya jiwa yang dahaga, dan jiwa yang lapar dikenyangkan-Nya dengan kebaikan.
10 Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,
Ada orang-orang yang duduk di dalam gelap dan kelam, terkurung dalam sengsara dan besi.
11 Because they had rebelled against the words of God, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; ...
Karena mereka memberontak terhadap perintah-perintah Allah, dan menista nasihat Yang Mahatinggi,
12 And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:
maka ditundukkan-Nya hati mereka ke dalam kesusahan, mereka tergelincir, dan tidak ada yang menolong.
13 Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses;
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan diselamatkan-Nyalah mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.
dibawa-Nya mereka keluar dari dalam gelap dan kelam, dan diputuskan-Nya belenggu-belenggu mereka.
15 Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia,
16 For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.
sebab dipecahkan-Nya pintu-pintu tembaga, dan dihancurkan-Nya palang-palang pintu besi.
17 Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;
Ada orang-orang menjadi sakit oleh sebab kelakuan mereka yang berdosa, dan disiksa oleh sebab kesalahan-kesalahan mereka;
18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:
mereka muak terhadap segala makanan dan mereka sudah sampai pada pintu gerbang maut.
19 Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses;
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan diselamatkan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
20 He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.
disampaikan-Nya firman-Nya dan disembuhkan-Nya mereka, diluputkan-Nya mereka dari liang kubur.
21 Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia.
22 And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.
Biarlah mereka mempersembahkan korban syukur, dan menceritakan pekerjaan-pekerjaan-Nya dengan sorak-sorai!
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,
Ada orang-orang yang mengarungi laut dengan kapal-kapal, yang melakukan perdagangan di lautan luas;
24 These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.
mereka melihat pekerjaan-pekerjaan TUHAN, dan perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib di tempat yang dalam.
25 For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:
Ia berfirman, maka dibangkitkan-Nya angin badai yang meninggikan gelombang-gelombangnya.
26 They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;
Mereka naik sampai ke langit dan turun ke samudera raya, jiwa mereka hancur karena celaka;
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:
mereka pusing dan terhuyung-huyung seperti orang mabuk, dan kehilangan akal.
28 Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan dikeluarkan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
29 He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:
dibuat-Nyalah badai itu diam, sehingga gelombang-gelombangnya tenang.
30 And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Mereka bersukacita, sebab semuanya reda, dan dituntun-Nya mereka ke pelabuhan kesukaan mereka.
31 Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia.
32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.
Biarlah mereka meninggikan Dia dalam jemaat umat itu, dan memuji-muji Dia dalam majelis para tua-tua.
33 He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;
Dibuat-Nya sungai-sungai menjadi padang gurun, dan pancaran-pancaran air menjadi tanah gersang,
34 A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
tanah yang subur menjadi padang asin, oleh sebab kejahatan orang-orang yang diam di dalamnya.
35 He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;
Dibuat-Nya padang gurun menjadi kolam air, dan tanah kering menjadi pancaran-pancaran air.
36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;
Ditempatkan-Nya di sana orang-orang lapar, dan mereka mendirikan kota tempat kediaman;
37 And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;
mereka menabur di ladang-ladang dan membuat kebun-kebun anggur, yang mengeluarkan buah-buahan sebagai hasil.
38 And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
Diberkati-Nya mereka sehingga mereka bertambah banyak dengan sangat, dan hewan-hewan mereka tidak dibuat-Nya berkurang.
39 And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:
Tetapi mereka menjadi berkurang dan membungkuk oleh sebab tekanan celaka dan duka.
40 He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;
Ditumpahkan-Nya kehinaan ke atas orang-orang terkemuka, dan dibuat-Nya mereka mengembara di padang tandus yang tiada jalan;
41 But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh [him] families like flocks.
tetapi orang miskin dibentengi-Nya terhadap penindasan, dan dibuat-Nya kaum-kaum mereka seperti kawanan domba banyaknya.
42 The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.
Orang-orang benar melihatnya, lalu bersukacita, tetapi segala kecurangan tutup mulut.
43 Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.
Siapa yang mempunyai hikmat? Biarlah ia berpegang pada semuanya ini, dan memperhatikan segala kemurahan TUHAN.
