Psalms 105
1 Give ye thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; make known his acts among the peoples.
Mshukuruni Yahwe, liitieni jina lake; myafanye matendo yake yajulikane kati ya mataifa.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him; meditate upon all his wondrous works.
Mwimbieni yeye, mwimbieni sifa yeye; semeni matendo yake yote ya ajau.
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.
Mjivune katika utakatifu wa jina lake; moyo wao wamtafutao Yahwe ufurahi.
4 Seek Jehovah and his strength, seek his face continually;
Mtafuteni Yahwe na nguvu zake; utafuteni uwepo wake siku zote.
5 Remember his wondrous works which he hath done, his miracles and the judgments of his mouth:
Kumbukeni mambo ya ajabu aliyoyatenda,
6 Ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.
miujiza yake na amri zitokazo kinywani mwake, enyi kizazi cha Ibrahimu mtumishi wake, enyi watu wa Yakobo, wachaguliwa wake.
7 He, Jehovah, is our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
Yeye ni Yahwe, Mungu wetu. Amri zake ziko juu ya nchi yote.
8 He is ever mindful of his covenant, — the word which he commanded to a thousand generations, —
Naye hulikumbuka agano lake milele, neno alilo amuru kwa ajili ya vizazi elfu.
9 Which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
Hulikumbuka agano alilolifanya na Ibrahimu na kiapo alicho mwapia Isaka.
10 And he confirmed it unto Jacob for a statute, unto Israel for an everlasting covenant,
Hiki ndicho alicho mthibitishia Yakobo kama agano na kama agano la milele kwa Israeli.
11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
Alisema, “Nitakupa wewe ardhi ya Kanaani kama sehemu yako ya urithi.”
12 When they were a few men in number, of small account, and strangers in it.
Alisema hili wakati tu walipokuwa wachache katika hesabu, yaani wachahe sana, nao walikuwa wageni katika nchi.
13 And they went from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
Walienda taifa hadi taifa na kutoka ufalme moja kwenda mwingine.
14 He suffered no man to oppress them, and reproved kings for their sakes,
Hakuruhusu yeyote kuwaonea; aliwakemea wafalme kwa ajili yao.
15 [Saying, ] Touch not mine anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.
Alisema, “Msiwaguze wapakwa mafuta wangu, na msiwadhuru manabii wangu.”
16 And he called for a famine upon the land; he broke the whole staff of bread.
Aliita njaa katika nchi; akaondoa upatikanaji wa mkate wote.
17 He sent a man before them: Joseph was sold for a bondman.
Akatuma mtu mbele yao; Yusufu aliuzwa kama mtumishi.
18 They afflicted his feet with fetters; his soul came into irons;
Miguu yake ilifungwa kwa pingu; alivishwa mnyororo wa chuma shingoni mwake,
19 Until the time when what he said came about: the word of Jehovah tried him.
mpaka wakati wa maneno yake ulipotimia, nalo neno la Yahwe lilimjaribu.
20 The king sent and loosed him — the ruler of peoples — and let him go free.
Mfalme alituma watumishi kumfungua; mtawala wa watu alimuweka huru.
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler over all his possessions:
Alimuweka kuwa msimamizi wa nyumba yake kama mtawala wa mali zake zote
22 To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.
kuwaelekeza wakuu kama alivyopenda na kuwafundisha viongozi wake hekima.
23 And Israel came into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
Kisha Israeli iliingia Misri, na Yakobo aliishi kwa muda katika nchi ya Hamu.
24 And he made his people exceeding fruitful, and made them mightier than their oppressors.
Yahwe aliwajalia watu wake wazae sana, na aliwafanya wenye nguvu kuliko adui zao.
25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
Alisababisha adui zao wawachukie watu wake, na kuwatendea visivyo watumishi wake.
26 He sent Moses his servant, [and] Aaron whom he had chosen:
Alimtuma Musa, mtumishi wake, na Haruni, ambaye alikwisha mchagua.
27 They set his signs among them, and miracles in the land of Ham.
Walifanya ishara zake kati ya Wamisri na maajabu yake katika ya nchi ya Hamu.
28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
Alituma giza na likaifanya nchi hiyo kuwa giza, lakini watu wake hawakutii amri zake.
29 He turned their waters into blood, and caused their fish to die.
Aligeuza maji kuwa damu na aliua samaki wao.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, — in the chambers of their kings.
Nchi yao ilijaa vyura, hata katika vyumba vya watawala wao.
31 He spoke, and there came dog-flies, [and] gnats in all their borders.
Alisema, na makundi ya inzi na chawa wakaja mjini mwote.
32 He gave them hail for rain, [and] flaming fire in their land;
Aliigeuza mvua yao kuwa mvua ya mawe, pamoja na miali ya moto juu ya ardhi yao.
33 And he smote their vines and their fig-trees, and broke the trees of their borders.
Aliiharibu mizabibu yao na mitini yao; akaivunja miti ya mji wao.
34 He spoke, and the locust came, and the cankerworm, even without number;
Alisema, na nzige wakaja, nzige wengi sana.
35 And they devoured every herb in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.
Nzige walikula mboga zao zote za majani katika nchi yao. Walikula mazao yote ardhini.
36 And he smote every firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their vigour.
Aliua kila mzaliwa wa kwanza katika nchi yao, malimbuko ya nguvu zao.
37 And he brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble among their tribes.
Aliwatoa nje Waisraeli wakiwa na fedha na dhahabu; hakuna mmoja wa kabila lake aliyejikwaa njiani.
38 Egypt rejoiced at their departure; for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
Misri ilifurahi walipoondoka, maana Wamisri waliwaogopa.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
Alitandaza wingu liwafunike na alifanya moto uwaangazie wakati wa usiku.
40 They asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
Waisraeli waliomba chakula, naye aliwaletea kware na aliwatosheleza kwa mkate kutoka mbiguni.
41 He opened the rock, and waters gushed forth; they ran in the dry places [like] a river.
Aliugawa mwamba, maji yalimwagika kutoka humo; yalitiririka katika jangwa kama mto.
42 For he remembered his holy word, [and] Abraham his servant;
Kwa maana alikumbuka ahadi yake takatifu aliyoifanya kwa Ibrahimu mtumishi wake.
43 And he brought forth his people with gladness, his chosen with rejoicing;
Aliwaongoza watu wake kwa furaha, wateule wake kwa kelele za ushindi.
44 And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the labour of the peoples:
Aliwapa nchi za mataifa; walichukua milki ya mali za watu
45 That they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Hallelujah!
ili waweze kushika amri zake na kutii sheria zake. Msifuni Yahwe.
