Psalms 10
1 Why, Jehovah, standest thou afar off? [Why] hidest thou thyself in times of distress?
Porque estás ao longe, Senhor? Porque te escondes nos tempos de angústia?
2 The wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
Os ímpios na sua arrogância perseguem furiosamente o miserável; sejam apanhados nas ciladas que maquinaram.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his soul's desire, and he blesseth the covetous; he contemneth Jehovah.
Porque o ímpio glória-se do desejo da sua alma; bendiz ao avarento, e blasfema do Senhor.
4 The wicked [saith], in the haughtiness of his countenance, He doth not search out: all his thoughts are, There is no God!
Pela altivez do seu rosto o ímpio não busca a Deus: todas as suas cogitações são que não há Deus
5 His ways always succeed; thy judgments are far above out of his sight; [as for] all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.
Os seus caminhos atormentam sempre: os teus juízos estão longe da vista dele em grande altura, e despreza aos seus inimigos.
6 He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall be in no adversity.
Diz em seu coração: Não serei comovido, porque nunca me verei na adversidade.
7 His mouth is full of cursing, and deceit, and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
A sua boca está cheia de imprecações, de enganos e de astúcia; debaixo da sua língua há moléstia e maldade.
8 He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secret places doth he slay the innocent: his eyes watch for the wretched.
Põe-se nas emboscadas das aldeias; nos lugares ocultos mata ao inocente; os seus olhos estão ocultamente fitos contra o pobre.
9 He lieth in wait secretly, like a lion in his thicket; he lieth in wait to catch the afflicted: he doth catch the afflicted, drawing him into his net.
Arma ciladas no esconderijo, como o leão no seu covil; arma ciladas para roubar ao miserável; rouba ao miserável, trazendo-o na sua rede.
10 He croucheth, he boweth down, that the wretched may fall by his strong ones.
Encolhe-se, abaixa-se, para que os pobres caiam em suas fortes garras.
11 He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth his face, he will never see [it].
Diz em seu coração: Deus esqueceu-se, cobriu o seu rosto, e nunca o verá.
12 Arise, Jehovah; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the afflicted.
Levanta-te, Senhor: oh! Deus, levanta a tua mão; não te esqueças dos miseráveis.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it].
Porque blasfema o ímpio de Deus? dizendo no seu coração: Tu não o esquadrinharás?
14 Thou hast seen [it], for thou thyself beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite by thy hand. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.
Tu o viste, porque atentas para o trabalho e enfado, para o entregar em tuas mãos; a ti o pobre se encomenda, tu és o auxílio do órfão.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked, and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness [till] thou find none.
Quebra o braço do ímpio e malvado; busca a sua impiedade, até que nenhuma encontres.
16 Jehovah is King for ever and ever: the nations have perished out of his land.
O Senhor é Rei eterno; da sua terra perecerão os gentios.
17 Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek, thou hast established their heart: thou causest thine ear to hear,
Senhor, tu ouviste os desejos dos mansos; confortarás os seus corações; os teus ouvidos estarão abertos para eles;
18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed one, that the man of the earth may terrify no more.
Para fazer justiça ao órfão e ao oprimido, afim de que o homem da terra não prosiga mais em usar da violência.
