< Proverbs 8 >

1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding give forth her voice?
Githĩ ũũgĩ ndareetana? Githĩ ũtaũku ndaranĩrĩra na mũgambo wake?
2 On the top of high places by the way, at the cross-paths she taketh her stand.
Njĩra-inĩ kũrĩa gũtũũgĩru, na magomano-inĩ ma njĩra-rĩ, nĩho ũũgĩ arũgamĩte;
3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud.
ningĩ hakuhĩ na ihingo iria cierekeire itũũra inene, o hau matoonyero-inĩ-rĩ, nĩho araanĩrĩra akoiga atĩrĩ:
4 Unto you, men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of man:
“Inyuĩ andũ nĩ inyuĩ ndĩreeta; ndĩraanĩrĩra na mũgambo wakwa kũrĩ andũ othe a thĩ.
5 O ye simple, understand prudence; and ye foolish, understand sense.
Inyuĩ arĩa mũtarĩ na ũũgĩ, gĩai na ũbaarĩrĩri, inyuĩ arĩa akĩĩgu, gĩai na ũtaũku.
6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things, and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Thikĩrĩriai, nĩgũkorwo ndĩ na maũndũ ma bata ngwaria; ngũtumũra mĩromo yakwa njarie maũndũ marĩa magĩrĩire.
7 For my palate shall meditate truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Kanua gakwa kaaragia ũhoro wa ma, nĩgũkorwo mĩromo yakwa nĩĩthũire waganu mũno ta kĩndũ kĩrĩ magigi.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing tortuous or perverse in them.
Ciugo ciothe cia kanua gakwa nĩ cia ũthingu; gũtirĩ o na kiugo kĩmwe gĩacio kĩogomu kana gĩa kũhĩtithania.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
Kũrĩ arĩa makũũranaga maũndũ ciugo ciothe nĩciagĩrĩire; itirĩ mahĩtia kũrĩ arĩa marĩ na ũmenyo.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold:
Thuurai mataaro makwa handũ ha betha, mũthuure ũmenyo handũ ha thahabu ĩrĩa njega mũno,
11 for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that may be desired are not equal to it.
nĩgũkorwo ũũgĩ nĩ wa goro gũkĩra ruru iria ndune, na gũtirĩ kĩndũ ũngĩĩrirĩria kĩngĩringithanio naguo.
12 I wisdom dwell [with] prudence, and find the knowledge [which cometh] of reflection.
“Niĩ ũũgĩ-rĩ, ndũũranagia na ũbaarĩrĩri; nĩndĩgwatĩire ũmenyo o na gũthugunda maũndũ mega.
13 The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth do I hate.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am intelligence; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign, and rulers make just decrees;
Athamaki mathamakaga nĩ ũndũ wa hinya wakwa nao aathani magathondeka mawatho ma kĩhooto;
16 by me princes rule, and nobles, all the judges of the earth.
anene mathamakaga nĩ ũndũ wa hinya wakwa, o ũndũ ũmwe na arĩa othe marĩ igweta arĩa maathanaga gũkũ thĩ.
17 I love those that love me; and they that seek me early shall find me.
Nĩnyendete arĩa manyendete, nao arĩa manjaragia na kĩyo nĩmanyonaga.
18 Riches and honour are with me; durable wealth and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than fine gold, yea, than pure gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
Maciaro makwa nĩ mega gũkĩra thahabu ĩrĩa therie; uumithio wakwa nĩũkĩrĩte betha ĩrĩa njega.
20 I walk in the path of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
Niĩ thiiaga na njĩra ya ũthingu, ngathiĩra o njĩra-inĩ cia kĩhooto,
21 that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasuries.
ngĩheaga andũ arĩa manyendete ũtonga, na ngaiyũragia igĩĩna ciao.
22 Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
“Jehova aanyũmbire o kĩambĩrĩria-inĩ kĩa wĩra wake, mbere ya mawĩra make ma tene;
23 I was set up from eternity, from the beginning, before the earth was.
ndaathuurirwo kuuma tene wa tene, kuuma o kĩambĩrĩria, thĩ ĩtarĩ yagĩa.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Rĩrĩa gũtaagĩte maria manene-rĩ, nĩguo ndaciarirwo, o hĩndĩ ĩrĩa gũtaarĩ matherũkĩro maiyũrĩte maaĩ;
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth;
ndaciarirwo irĩma itanahaandwo harĩa irĩ, na tũrĩma tũtanagĩa,
26 while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
we atanoomba thĩ kana ithaka ciayo, o na kana rũkũngũ o ruothe rwa thĩ.
27 When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he ordained the circle upon the face of the deep;
Niĩ ndaarĩ o kuo hĩndĩ ĩrĩa aathondekire igũrũ na akĩrĩiga handũ ha rĩo, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa eekĩrire rũkiriri rwa kũrĩa kũriku,
28 when he established the skies above, when the fountains of the deep became strong;
rĩrĩa aahaandire matu kũu igũrũ, na akĩrũmia ithima cia kũrĩa kũriku wega,
29 when he imposed on the sea his decree that the waters should not pass his commandment, when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
rĩrĩa eekĩrire mũhaka wa iria nĩguo maaĩ matikanae kwagarara watho wake, na rĩrĩa aahandire mĩthingi ya thĩ.
30 then I was by him [his] nursling, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth, and my delights [were] with the sons of men.
ngakenagĩra thĩ yake yothe, na ngakenagio nĩ andũ othe a thĩ.
32 And now, sons, hearken unto me, and blessed are they that keep my ways:
“Atĩrĩrĩ ariũ akwa, ta thikĩrĩriai; kũrathimwo nĩ arĩa marũmagia njĩra ciakwa.
33 hear instruction and be wise, and refuse it not.
Ta thikĩrĩriai mataaro makwa nĩguo mũhĩge; mũtikamarege.
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
Kũrathimwo nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũnjiguaga, agacũthagĩrĩria mĩrango-inĩ yakwa o mũthenya, akanjetagĩrĩra hingĩro-inĩ cia mĩrango yakwa.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and obtaineth favour of Jehovah;
Nĩgũkorwo ũrĩa wothe ũgĩte na niĩ nĩ muoyo agĩte naguo, nake akagĩa na agetĩkĩrĩka harĩ Jehova.
36 but he that sinneth against me doeth violence to his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
No ũrĩa wothe ũhĩtanĩtie na niĩ nĩ ũũru eĩkaga; nao arĩa othe maathũire nĩ gĩkuũ mendete.”
