Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
Hijo mío, cumple mis palabras y deja que mis reglas estén guardadas en tu mente.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my teaching, as the apple of thine eye.
Guarda mis reglas y tendrás vida; deja que mi enseñanza sea para ti como la luz de tus ojos;
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the tablet of thy heart.
Déjalos moslos fijar en tus dedos, y grabados en tu corazón.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister, and call intelligence [thy] kinswoman:
Di a la sabiduría: Tú eres mi hermana; que el conocimiento se llame tu amigo especial:
5 that they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words.
para que te guarden de la mujer adúltera, de la mujer extraña de palabras seductoras.
6 For at the window of my house, I looked forth through my lattice,
Mirando desde mi casa, y mirando por la ventana,
7 and I beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the sons, a young man void of understanding,
vi entre los jóvenes inexpertos, a uno más necio que todos.
8 passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
Caminando en la calle cerca del recodo de su camino, yendo hacia la casa de ella,
9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the blackness of night and the darkness.
Al anochecer, en el tarde del día, en la oscuridad negra de la noche.
10 And behold, there met him a woman in the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart.
Y la mujer salió a él, con el vestido de una mujer prostituta, con un corazón astuto;
11 She is clamorous and unmanageable; her feet abide not in her house:
Ella es una mujer ligera y sin escrúpulos; sus pies no se quedan en su casa.
12 now without, now in the broadways, — and she lieth in wait at every corner.
Ahora está en la calle, ahora en los espacios abiertos, esperando en las esquinas.
13 And she caught him and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
Entonces ella lo tomó de su mano, y lo besó, y sin vergüenza ella le dijo:
14 I have peace-offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows:
Tengo un banquete de ofrendas de paz, porque hoy mis juramentos han sido efectuados.
15 therefore came I forth to meet thee, to seek earnestly thy face, and I have found thee.
Así que salí con la esperanza de conocerte, buscándote con cuidado, y ahora te tengo a ti.
16 I have decked my bed with tapestry coverlets of variegated linen from Egypt;
Mi cama está cubierta con cojines de costura, con telas de colores del hilo de algodón de Egipto;
17 I have perfumed my couch with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
He hecho mi cama dulce con perfumes y especias.
18 Come, let us revel in love until the morning, let us delight ourselves with loves.
Venga, disfrutemos de nuestro placer en el amor hasta la mañana, teniendo gozo en las delicias del amor.
19 For the husband is not at home, he is gone a long journey;
Porque el dueño de la casa se aleja en un largo viaje:
20 he hath taken the money-bag with him, he will come home on the day of the full moon.
Ha tomado una bolsa de dinero con él; él regresará a la luna llena.
21 With her much enticement she beguiled him; with the smoothness of her lips she constrained him.
Con sus bellas palabras ella lo venció, lo convenció con sus labios seductores.
22 He went after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, and as stocks [serve] for the correction of the fool;
El hombre necio va tras ella, como un buey que va a morir, como un ciervo tirado por una cuerda;
23 till an arrow strike through his liver: as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for its life.
Como un pájaro cayendo en una red; sin pensar que su vida está en peligro, hasta que una flecha entra en su costado.
24 And now, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Ahora, mis hijos, escúchenme; presten atención a los dichos de mi boca;
25 Let not thy heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths:
No vuelvas tu corazón a sus caminos, no vayas siguiendo sus pasos.
26 for she hath cast down many wounded, and all slain by her were strong.
Porque los heridos y humillados por ella son numerosos; y todos los que han muerto a través de ella son un gran ejército.
