Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, incline thine ear to my understanding;
| ای پسرم، به سخنان حکیمانهٔ من گوش کن و به بصیرت من توجه نما. |
2 that thou mayest keep reflection, and that thy lips may preserve knowledge.
| آنگاه خواهی دانست چگونه درست رفتار کنی، و سخنان تو نشان خواهد داد که از دانایی برخوردار هستی. |
3 For the lips of the strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;
| زن بدکاره چرب زبان است و سخنان او مانند عسل شیرین می‌باشد؛ |
4 but her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
| ولی عاقبت جز تلخی و درد چیزی برای تو باقی نمی‌گذارد. |
| زن بدکاره تو را به سوی مرگ و جهنم می‌کشاند، (Sheol h7585) |
6 Lest she should ponder the path of life, her ways wander, she knoweth not [whither].
| زیرا او از راه زندگی منحرف شده و سرگردان است و نمی‌داند به کجا می‌رود. |
7 And now, children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
| ای جوانان، به من گوش دهید و آنچه را که می‌خواهم به شما بگویم هرگز فراموش نکنید: |
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
| از چنین زنی دوری کنید. حتی به در خانه‌اش هم نزدیک نشوید، |
9 lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;
| مبادا در دام وسوسه‌هایش گرفتار شوید و حیثیت خود را از دست بدهید و بقیه عمر خویش را صرف کسی کنید که رحم و شفقت ندارد. |
10 lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, and the fruits of thy toil [come] into the house of a stranger;
| مبادا غریبه‌ها اموال شما را تصاحب نمایند و ثمرهٔ زحمت شما از آن دیگران شود، |
11 and thou mourn in thine end, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed;
| و عاقبت بیمار شده، از شدت درماندگی بنالید |
12 and thou say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof!
| و بگویید: «کاش که گوش می‌دادم! کاش که تسلیم هوسهایم نمی‌شدم! |
13 and I have not hearkened unto the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to those that instructed me;
| چرا به نصایح معلمانم گوش ندادم؟ چرا به سخنان ایشان توجه نکردم؟ |
14 I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
| اکنون باید پیش همه رسوا و سرافکنده باشم.» |
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
| پسرم، نسبت به همسر خود وفادار باش و تنها نسبت به او عشق بورز. |
16 Thy fountains shall be poured forth, as water-brooks in the broadways.
| چرا باید از زنان هرزهٔ خیابانی صاحب بچه شوی؟ |
17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
| فرزندان تو باید تنها مال خودت باشند و نباید غریبه‌ها در آنان سهمی داشته باشند. |
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.
| پس با زنت خوش باش و از همسر خود که در ایام جوانی با او ازدواج کرده‌ای لذت ببر. |
19 As a lovely hind and a graceful roe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times: be thou ravished continually with her love.
| دلبریها و آغوش او تو را کافی باشد، و قلب تو فقط از عشق او سرشار گردد. |
20 And why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
| چرا باید به زن بدکاره دل ببندی و زنی را که به تو تعلق ندارد در آغوش بگیری؟ |
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah, and he pondereth all his paths.
| خداوند به دقت تو را زیر نظر دارد و هر کاری را که انجام می‌دهی می‌سنجد. |
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
| گناهان شخص بدکار مانند ریسمان به دورش می‌پیچد و او را گرفتار می‌سازد. |
23 He shall die for want of discipline; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
| بلهوسی او باعث مرگش خواهد شد و حماقتش او را به نابودی خواهد کشاند. |
