< Proverbs 5 >

1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, incline thine ear to my understanding;
Mutabani, ossangayo omwoyo eri ebiragiro byange, era owulirizanga bulungi ebigambo byange eby’amagezi,
2 that thou mayest keep reflection, and that thy lips may preserve knowledge.
olyoke oyige okusalawo okw’amagezi, era akamwa ko kavengamu eby’obutegevu.
3 For the lips of the strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;
Kubanga emimwa gy’omukazi omwenzi gitonnya omubisi gw’enjuki, n’ebigambo bye biweweevu okusinga omuzigo;
4 but her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
naye enkomerero ya byonna, akaawa ng’omususa era asala ng’ekitala eky’obwogi obubiri.
5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Ebigere bye bituuka mu kufa, ebisinde bye biraga emagombe. (Sheol h7585)
6 Lest she should ponder the path of life, her ways wander, she knoweth not [whither].
Tafaayo ku kkubo lya bulamu, amakubo ge gaakyamakyama dda, naye nga takimanyi.
7 And now, children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Kaakano, batabani bange mumpulirize, temuvanga ku bigambo bya kamwa kange.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Mwewalenga omukazi oyo era temusembereranga luggi lwa nnyumba ye;
9 lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;
si kulwa nga mufiirwa ekitiibwa kyammwe, n’okumalira ebiseera byammwe ku oyo alina ettima,
10 lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, and the fruits of thy toil [come] into the house of a stranger;
ate si kulwa nga b’otolina ky’obamanyiiko bakwavuwaza, n’amaanyi go n’ogamalira ku maka g’omulala.
11 and thou mourn in thine end, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed;
Ku nkomerero y’obulamu bwo olisinda, ennyama yo n’omubiri gwo nga biweddewo.
12 and thou say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof!
Oligamba nti, “Nga nakyawa okulabulwa, n’omutima gwange ne gukyawa okunenyezebwa,
13 and I have not hearkened unto the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to those that instructed me;
era ne sigondera ddoboozi ly’abasomesa bange, wadde okussaayo omwoyo eri abo abampanga amagezi.
14 I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Ntuuse ku njegoyego z’okuzikirira nga ndi wakati mu kuŋŋaaniro ly’ekibiina.”
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
Onoonywanga amazzi ag’omu kidiba kyo, n’amazzi agava mu luzzi lwo goonoonywanga.
16 Thy fountains shall be poured forth, as water-brooks in the broadways.
Ensulo zo zisaanye okukulukutira mu nguudo, n’enzizi zo mu bifo ebigazi eby’omu kibuga?
17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
Leka bibeere bibyo wekka, bireme kugabanibwako b’otomanyiiko n’akamu.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.
Kale leka ensulo yo ebeere n’omukisa, era osanyuke ne mukazi wo ow’omu buvubuka bwo.
19 As a lovely hind and a graceful roe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times: be thou ravished continually with her love.
Ng’ennangaazi eyeeyagaza n’empeewo esanyusa, leka okusuuta kwe kukumalenga ennaku zonna era naye akwetoloozenga okwagala kwe.
20 And why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Lwaki mwana wange osendebwasendebwa omukazi omwenzi, n’ogwa mu kifuba ky’omukazi w’omusajja omulala?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah, and he pondereth all his paths.
Kubanga Mukama alaba amakubo g’omuntu gonna, era n’akebera n’amakubo ge gonna.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
Ebikolwa by’omukozi w’ebibi bimufuukira omutego, era emiguwa gy’ebikolwa bye ebibi girimusibira ddala.
23 He shall die for want of discipline; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Alifa, kubanga yagaana okwekuuma, era alizikirira olw’obusirusiru bwe obungi.
