Proverbs 4
1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know intelligence;
೧ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ.
2 for I give you good doctrine: forsake ye not my law.
೨ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸುಬೋಧೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು, ನನ್ನ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.
3 For I was a son unto my father, tender and an only one in the sight of my mother.
೩ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಅಧೀನನಾದ ಮಗನೂ, ತಾಯಿಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೋಮಲನಾದ ಏಕಪುತ್ರನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೆನು.
4 And he taught me, and said unto me, Let thy heart retain my words; keep my commandments and live.
೪ಆಗ ತಂದೆಯು ನನಗೆ ಬೋಧಕನಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ, ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ಬಾಳು.
5 Get wisdom, get intelligence: forget [it] not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
೫ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆ, ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸು, ಮರೆಯಬೇಡ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಸಡ್ಡೆ ತೋರಿಸಬೇಡ.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall keep thee; love her, and she shall preserve thee.
೬ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬಿಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದು, ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವುದು.
7 The beginning of wisdom [is], Get wisdom; and with all thy getting get intelligence.
೭ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೇ ಜ್ಞಾನಬೋಧೆಯ ಪ್ರಥಮಪಾಠ, ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದಲೂ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಪಡೆ.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee to honour when thou dost embrace her.
೮ಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಳು ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಭಾವಿಸಿದರೆ ಆಕೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತಿಗೆ ತರುವಳು, ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸುವಳು.
9 She shall give to thy head a garland of grace; a crown of glory will she bestow upon thee.
೯ಆಕೆಯು ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಗೆ ಅಂದದ ಪುಷ್ಪಮಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು, ಸುಂದರ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವಳು.”
10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of thy life shall be multiplied.
೧೦ಕಂದಾ, ಗಮನಿಸಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ಕೇಳಿದರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದ ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚುವವು.
11 I will teach thee in the way of wisdom, I will lead thee in paths of uprightness.
೧೧ನಾನು ಜ್ಞಾನಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿ, ಧರ್ಮಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವೆನು.
12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
೧೨ನೀನು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಓಡಿದರೆ ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
13 Take fast hold of instruction, let [her] not go: keep her, for she is thy life.
೧೩ಸದುಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೋ, ಸಡಿಲಬಿಡಬೇಡ, ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೋ, ಅದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವವು.
14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil [men]:
೧೪ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಬೇಡ, ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಡ.
15 avoid it, pass not by it; turn from it, and pass away.
೧೫ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಡ, ಅದರಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆ.
16 For they sleep not except they have done mischief, and their sleep is taken away unless they have caused [some] to fall.
೧೬ಕೇಡುಮಾಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆಬಾರದು; ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರೂ ಎಡವಿಬೀಳಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರ ನಿದ್ರೆಗೆ ಭಂಗವಾಗುವುದು.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
೧೭ದುಷ್ಟತನವೇ ಅವರ ಆಹಾರ; ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವೇ ಅವರ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ ಪಾನ.
18 But the path of the righteous is as the shining light, going on and brightening until the day be fully come.
೧೮ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ ಬರುವ ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಬೆಳಕಿನಂತಿದೆ.
19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
೧೯ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮಾರ್ಗವೋ ಕತ್ತಲಿನಂತಿದೆ; ತಾವು ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಡವಿಬಿದ್ದೆವೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗದು.
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
೨೦ಕಂದಾ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸು, ನನ್ನ ನುಡಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡು.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thy heart.
೨೧ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯು ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪದಿರಲಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದೊಳಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
೨೨ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವವರಿಗೆ ಅವು ಜೀವವು, ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವೇ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವು.
23 Keep thy heart more than anything that is guarded; for out of it are the issues of life.
೨೩ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಬಹು ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೋ, ಅದರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಜೀವಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳು ಹೊರಡುವವು.
24 Put away from thee perverseness of mouth, and corrupt lips put far from thee.
೨೪ಸೊಟ್ಟಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಸಿಬಿಡು, ಕೆಟ್ಟ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾಯಿಂದ ದೂರಮಾಡು.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
೨೫ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಇರಲಿ.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be well-ordered.
೨೬ನೀನು ನಡೆಯುವ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮಮಾಡು, ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೃಢವಾಗಿರುವವು.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left; remove thy foot from evil.
೨೭ಎಡಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಬಲಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ತಿರುಗಬೇಡ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಲನ್ನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ದೂರಮಾಡು.
