Proverbs 28
1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.
௧ஒருவனும் பின்தொடராமல் இருந்தும் துன்மார்க்கர்கள் ஓடிப்போகிறார்கள்; நீதிமான்களோ சிங்கத்தைப்போல தைரியமாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.
2 By the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding [and] of knowledge, [its] stability is prolonged.
௨தேசத்தின் பாவத்தினால் அதின் அதிகாரிகள் அநேகராக இருக்கிறார்கள்; புத்தியும் அறிவுமுள்ள மனிதனாலோ அதின் நற்சீர் நீடித்திருக்கும்.
3 A poor man who oppresseth the helpless is a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
௩ஏழைகளை ஒடுக்குகிற தரித்திரன் உணவு விளையாதபடி வெள்ளமாக அடித்துக்கொண்டுபோகிற மழையைப்போல இருக்கிறான்.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.
௪வேதப்பிரமாணத்தைவிட்டு விலகுகிறவர்கள் துன்மார்க்கர்களைப் புகழுகிறார்கள்; வேதப்பிரமாணத்தைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களோ அவர்களோடு போராடுகிறார்கள்.
5 Evil men understand not judgment; but they that seek Jehovah understand everything.
௫துன்மார்க்கர்கள் நியாயத்தை அறியார்கள்; யெகோவாவை தேடுகிறவர்களோ அனைத்தையும் அறிவார்கள்.
6 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse, double in ways, though he be rich.
௬இருவழிகளில் நடக்கிறவன் செல்வந்தனாக இருந்தாலும், நேர்மையாக நடக்கிற தரித்திரன் அவனைவிட சிறப்பானவன்.
7 Whoso observeth the law is a son that hath understanding; but he that is a companion of profligates bringeth shame to his father.
௭வேதப்பிரமாணத்தைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் விவேகமுள்ள மகன்; உணவுப்பிரியர்களுக்குத் தோழனாக இருக்கிறவனோ தன்னுடைய தகப்பனை அவமானப்படுத்துகிறான்.
8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.
௮அநியாய வட்டியினாலும் ஆதாயத்தினாலும் தன்னுடைய சொத்தைப் பெருகச்செய்கிறவன், தரித்திரர்கள்மேல் இரங்குகிறவனுக்காக அதைச் சேகரிக்கிறான்.
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
௯வேதத்தைக் கேட்காதபடி தன்னுடைய செவியை விலக்குகிறவனுடைய ஜெபமும் அருவருப்பானது.
10 Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, shall himself fall into his own pit; but the perfect shall inherit good.
௧0உத்தமர்களை மோசப்படுத்தி, பொல்லாத வழியிலே நடத்துகிறவன் தான் வெட்டின குழியில் தானே விழுவான்; உத்தமர்களோ நன்மையைச் சுதந்தரிப்பார்கள்.
11 A rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
௧௧செல்வந்தன் தன்னுடைய பார்வைக்கு ஞானவான்; புத்தியுள்ள தரித்திரனோ அவனைப் பரிசோதிக்கிறான்.
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men conceal themselves.
௧௨நீதிமான்கள் களிகூரும்போது மகா கொண்டாட்டம் உண்டாகும்; துன்மார்க்கர்கள் எழும்பும்போதோ மனிதர்கள் மறைந்துகொள்கிறார்கள்.
13 He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall obtain mercy.
௧௩தன்னுடைய பாவங்களை மறைக்கிறவன் வாழ்வடையமாட்டான்; அவைகளை அறிக்கை செய்து விட்டுவிடுகிறவனோ இரக்கம்பெறுவான்.
14 Happy is the man that feareth always; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.
௧௪எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கிறவன் பாக்கியவான்; தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்துகிறவனோ தீங்கில் விழுவான்.
15 A roaring lion, and a ranging bear, is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
௧௫ஏழை மக்களை ஆளும் துன்மார்க்க அதிகாரி கெர்ச்சிக்கும் சிங்கத்திற்கும் அலைந்து திரிகிற கரடிக்கும் ஒப்பாக இருக்கிறான்.
16 The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor: he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.
௧௬தலைவன் புத்தியீனனாக இருந்தால் அவன் செய்யும் இடுக்கண் மிகுதி; பொருளாசையை வெறுக்கிறவன் தீர்க்காயுசைப் பெறுவான்.
17 A man laden with the blood of [any] person, fleeth to the pit: let no man stay him.
௧௭இரத்தப்பழிக்காக ஒடுக்கப்பட்டவன் குழியில் ஒளிய ஓடிவந்தால், அவனை ஆதரிக்கவேண்டாம்.
18 Whoso walketh in integrity shall be saved; but he that is perverted in [his] double ways, shall fall in one [of them].
௧௮உத்தமனாக நடக்கிறவன் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவான்; மாறுபாடான இருவழியில் நடக்கிறவனோ அவற்றில் ஒன்றிலே விழுவான்.
19 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless shall have poverty enough.
௧௯தன்னுடைய நிலத்தைப் பயிரிடுகிறவன் உணவால் திருப்தியாவான்; வீணர்களைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவனோ வறுமையால் நிறைந்திருப்பான்.
20 A faithful man aboundeth with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
௨0உண்மையுள்ள மனிதன் பரிபூரண ஆசீர்வாதங்களைப் பெறுவான்; செல்வந்தனாகிறதற்கு அவசரப்படுகிறவனோ ஆக்கினைக்குத் தப்பமாட்டான்.
21 To have respect of persons is not good; but for a piece of bread will a man transgress.
௨௧பாரபட்சம் நல்லதல்ல, பாரபட்சமுள்ளவன் ஒரு துண்டு அப்பத்திற்காக அநியாயம் செய்வான்.
22 He that hath an evil eye hasteth after wealth, and knoweth not that poverty shall come upon him.
௨௨பொறாமைக்காரன் செல்வனாகிறதற்குப் பதறுகிறான், வறுமை தனக்கு வருமென்று அறியாமல் இருக்கிறான்.
23 He that rebuketh a man shall afterwards find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
௨௩தன்னுடைய நாவினால் முகஸ்துதி பேசுகிறவனைவிட, கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவன் முடிவில் அங்கீகாரம் பெறுவான்.
24 Whoso robbeth his father and his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.
௨௪தன்னுடைய தகப்பனையும் தன்னுடைய தாயையும் கொள்ளையிட்டு, அது துரோகமல்ல என்பவன் பாழாக்குகிற மனிதனுக்குத் தோழன்.
25 He that is puffed up in soul exciteth contention; but he that relieth upon Jehovah shall be made fat.
௨௫பெருநெஞ்சன் வழக்கை உண்டாக்குகிறான்; யெகோவாவை நம்புகிறவனோ செழிப்பான்.
26 He that confideth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
௨௬தன்னுடைய இருதயத்தை நம்புகிறவன் மூடன்; ஞானமாக நடக்கிறவனோ இரட்சிக்கப்படுவான்.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that withdraweth his eyes shall have many a curse.
௨௭தரித்திரர்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பவன் தாழ்ச்சியடையமாட்டான்; தன்னுடைய கண்களை ஏழைகளுக்கு விலக்குகிறவனுக்கோ அநேக சாபங்கள் வரும்.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
௨௮துன்மார்க்கர்கள் எழும்பும்போது மனிதர்கள் மறைந்துகொள்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் அழியும்போதோ நீதிமான்கள் பெருகுகிறார்கள்.
