Proverbs 28
1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.
൧ആരും ഓടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാർ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിർഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 By the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding [and] of knowledge, [its] stability is prolonged.
൨ദേശത്തിലെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ അനേകം പേരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവർ മുഖാന്തരം അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീർഘമായി നില്ക്കുന്നു.
3 A poor man who oppresseth the helpless is a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
൩അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ വിളവ് ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.
൪ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണം പാലിക്കുന്നവർ അവരോട് എതിർത്തുനില്ക്കുന്നു.
5 Evil men understand not judgment; but they that seek Jehovah understand everything.
൫ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.
6 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse, double in ways, though he be rich.
൬തന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാൾ പരമാർത്ഥതയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ ഉത്തമൻ.
7 Whoso observeth the law is a son that hath understanding; but he that is a companion of profligates bringeth shame to his father.
൭ന്യായപ്രമാണം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകൻ; ഭോജനപ്രീയന്മാർക്കു സഖിയായവൻ പിതാവിനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.
8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.
൮പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്ത് വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അഗതികളോട് കൃപാലുവായവനു വേണ്ടി അത് ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
൯ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേൾക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന പോലും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.
10 Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, shall himself fall into his own pit; but the perfect shall inherit good.
൧൦നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്ക് തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയിൽതന്നെ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കരായവർ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.
11 A rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
൧൧ധനവാന് സ്വയം ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതി അവനെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു.
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men conceal themselves.
൧൨നീതിമാന്മാർ ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഉയർച്ചയിൽ ആളുകൾ സ്വയം ഒളിക്കുന്നു.
13 He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall obtain mercy.
൧൩തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറയ്ക്കുന്നവന് ശുഭം വരുകയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.
14 Happy is the man that feareth always; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.
൧൪എപ്പോഴും ദോഷം ചെയ്യുവാന്‍ ഭയപ്പെടുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവൻ അനർത്ഥത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടും.
15 A roaring lion, and a ranging bear, is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
൧൫അഗതികളുടെമേൽ അധികാരം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടൻ ഗർജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിനും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യൻ.
16 The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor: he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.
൧൬ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാപീഡകൻ ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവൻ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.
17 A man laden with the blood of [any] person, fleeth to the pit: let no man stay him.
൧൭രക്തച്ചൊരിച്ചിലിന്റെ കുറ്റം ചുമക്കുന്നവൻ കുഴിയിലേയ്ക്ക് ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തുണയ്ക്കരുത്.
18 Whoso walketh in integrity shall be saved; but he that is perverted in [his] double ways, shall fall in one [of them].
൧൮നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ സുരക്ഷിതനായിരിക്കും; നടപ്പിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവൻ പെട്ടെന്ന് വീഴും.
19 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless shall have poverty enough.
൧൯നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിൻചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.
20 A faithful man aboundeth with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
൨൦വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷൻ അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂർണ്ണൻ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിനു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന് ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കുകയില്ല.
21 To have respect of persons is not good; but for a piece of bread will a man transgress.
൨൧പക്ഷപാതം കാണിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിനായും മനുഷ്യൻ അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.
22 He that hath an evil eye hasteth after wealth, and knoweth not that poverty shall come upon him.
൨൨ദുഷ്ടകണ്ണുള്ളവൻ ധനവാനാകുവാൻ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്ന് അവൻ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
23 He that rebuketh a man shall afterwards find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
൨൩ചക്കരവാക്ക് പറയുന്നവനെക്കാൾ ശാസിക്കുന്നവനു പിന്നീട് പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.
24 Whoso robbeth his father and his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.
൨൪അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ട് ‘അത് അക്രമമല്ല’ എന്നു പറയുന്നവൻ നാശകന്റെ സഖി.
25 He that is puffed up in soul exciteth contention; but he that relieth upon Jehovah shall be made fat.
൨൫അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവൻ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.
26 He that confideth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
൨൬സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ മൂഢൻ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവൻ സുരക്ഷിതനായിരിക്കും.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that withdraweth his eyes shall have many a curse.
൨൭ദരിദ്രനു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന് കുറവ് ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല; ദരിദ്രനു നേരെ കണ്ണ് അടച്ചുകളയുന്നവന് ഏറിയ ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
൨൮ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഉയർച്ചയിൽ ആളുകൾ സ്വയം ഒളിക്കുന്നു; അവർ നശിക്കുമ്പോൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ വർദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.
