Proverbs 25
1 These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah transcribed.
ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಲೇಖಕರು ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಇವು ಕೂಡ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳೇ.
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the glory of kings is to search out a thing.
ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ರಹಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವುದು ದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆ. ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದು ರಾಜರ ಮಹಿಮೆ.
3 The heavens for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.
ಆಕಾಶದ ಎತ್ತರವನ್ನು, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಆಳವನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅರಸರ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಗೋಚರ.
4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there cometh forth a vessel for the refiner:
ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ಕಲ್ಮಷವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯು ರೂಪಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
5 take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
ಅರಸನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಿಂದ ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ಆಗ ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು ನೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವುದು.
6 Put not thyself forward in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of the great;
ಅರಸನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ; ದೊಡ್ಡವರಿಗೆ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬೇಡ.
7 for better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither, than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes see.
ಘನವಂತರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, “ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾ,” ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದು ಲೇಸು. ನೀವು ಏನನ್ನೋ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ,
8 Go not forth hastily to strive, lest [thou know not] what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.
ದುಡುಕಿ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ನೀನು ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವೆ?
9 Debate thy cause with thy neighbour, but reveal not the secret of another;
ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಚರ್ಚಿಸು; ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರ ಗುಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಬೇಡ,
10 lest he that heareth [it] disgrace thee, and thine evil report turn not away.
ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಪಡಿಸಿಯಾನು; ನಿನ್ನ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿಯು ಹೋಗದೆ ಇದ್ದೀತು.
11 [As] apples of gold in pictures of silver, is a word spoken in season.
ಸಮಯೋಚಿತವಾದ ಮಾತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಸೇಬಿನಂತಿದೆ.
12 An ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, is a wise reprover upon an attentive ear.
ಕೇಳುವ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯ ತಿದ್ದುವಿಕೆಯು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಮುರು; ಚೊಕ್ಕ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಆಭರಣ.
13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, [so] is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಮದ ಶೀತದ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಸೇವಕನಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನರ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಅವನು ನವಚೈತನ್ಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
14 Clouds and wind without rain, [so] is a man that boasteth himself of a false gift.
ದಾನ ಕೊಡದೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು, ಮಳೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಮೋಡಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಗಾಳಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ.
15 By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.
ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಭುವನ್ನು ಒಲಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು; ಮೃದುವಾದ ಮಾತು ಎಲುಬನ್ನು ಮುರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.
16 Hast thou found honey? Eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be surfeited therewith, and vomit it.
ಜೇನನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀಯಾ? ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವಷ್ಟೇ ತಿನ್ನು; ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬಾ ತಿಂದರೆ ಕಾರಬೇಕಾದೀತು.
17 Let thy foot be seldom in thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee and hate thee.
ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಅಪರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಡು; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಾನು.
18 A maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow, is a man that beareth false witness against his neighbour.
ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುವವನು ಚಮಟಿಗೆ, ಖಡ್ಗ, ಹರಿತವಾದ ಬಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
19 A broken tooth, and a tottering foot, is confidence in an unfaithful [man] in the day of trouble.
ಕಷ್ಟಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿಯ ಭರವಸೆಯು ಮುರಿದ ಹಲ್ಲು, ಕೀಲು ತಪ್ಪಿದ ಪಾದವು.
20 [As] he that taketh off a garment in cold weather, [and as] vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to a sad heart.
ಮನಗುಂದಿದವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತ ಹಾಡುವುದು ಚಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಹುಳಿ ಉಪ್ಪನ್ನು ಗಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿದಂತೆಯೂ.
21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರು ಹಸಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ಉಣ್ಣುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಊಟಕೊಡು; ಅವನು ಬಾಯಾರಿದ್ದರೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು.
22 for thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and Jehovah shall reward thee.
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಕೆಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಿಯುವಂತಿರುವುದು; ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಕೊಡುವರು.
23 The north wind bringeth forth rain, and the angry countenance a backbiting tongue.
ಅನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ತರುವ ಉತ್ತರದ ಗಾಳಿಯಂತೆ ಚಾಡಿಯ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಕೋಪದ ಮುಖ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
24 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a contentious woman, and a house in common.
ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗಳಗಂಟಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಒಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವುದು ಲೇಸು.
25 [As] cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
ಬಾಯಾರಿದವನಿಗೆ ತಣ್ಣೀರು ಹೇಗೋ ದೂರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಮಾಚಾರವು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ.
26 A troubled fountain, and a defiled well, is a righteous [man] that giveth way before the wicked.
ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಸೋಲುವುದು, ಕೆಸರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗೂ ಕೊಳಕು ಒರತೆಗೂ ಸಮಾನ.
27 It is not good to eat much honey; and to search into weighty matters is [itself] a weight.
ಜೇನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ತಿನ್ನುವುದು ಹಿತವಲ್ಲ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಸ್ವಂತ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದು ಗೌರವವಲ್ಲ.
28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is [as] a city broken down, without walls.
ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಆಳದಿರುವವನು, ಗೋಡೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಹಾಳೂರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ.
