< Proverbs 18 >

1 He that separateth himself seeketh [his] pleasure, he is vehement against all sound wisdom.

2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may reveal itself.

3 When the wicked cometh, there cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
Phatlouna ahung um teng, thangset nan ahin jui in, kijatona abei teng kimudana aum paijin ahi.
4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, [and] the fountain of wisdom is a gushing brook.
Miching kamsunga kon hung potdoh thuchang hohi twithuh tobang ahin, chihna jong hi vadung tehliu'a twilong tobang ahi.
5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to wrong the righteous in judgment.
Miphalou maija langnei hi angaina ahipon, mikitah chungthu adih'a tan ding jong suh-noh phah lou ding ahi.
6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for stripes.
Mingol thucheng hin mitoh kinahna ason, akamchenga kon in mol akisei doh bep jitai.
7 A fool's mouth is destruction to him, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
Mingol kamcheng hi ama dinga amanthahna bep ahin, aleigui in ama le ama thangkol'a o-na ding akisemdoh bep ahi.
8 The words of a talebearer are as dainty morsels, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Aguh a thu poa pangpa thusei jihi, anneh tuitah tobang ahin, akamcheng sohdoh jouse jong mihem lungsunga alhalut paijin ahi.
9 He also who is indolent in his work is brother of the destroyer.
Atohna chunga mithase hi, mi manthah sahpa toh sopi ahi.
10 The name of Jehovah is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Yahweh Pakai minhi kulpi nasatah tobang ahin, hijeh chun mikitah in abel-jin hoidohnan aneiye.
11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own imagination.
Mihaopa nei le gou chu ama din kulpi dettah tobang ahin, akihuh hingna dinga pal kikai bep bep ahi.
12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty; and before honour [goeth] humility.
Mihem amanthah kon leh, kiletsah nan adim jin, koi hileh akineosa masa chan chu jabolna chang ding ahi.
13 He that giveth answer before he heareth, it is folly and shame unto him.
Thil hetchet masanga donbut jeng chun, ngol-houi tah jumna ato tei ding ahi.
14 The spirit of a man sustaineth his infirmity; but a broken spirit who can bear?
Mihem lhagao in dam-mona athoh jou in, hinlah lhagao adamlou teng thoh hahsa ding ahi.
15 The heart of an intelligent [man] getteth knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
Chihna lungthim neihon phat tin'in hetbe ding adei-jun, hijeh chun miching hon hetna mube ding ago jing un ahi.
16 A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
Mihem kiti hi athilpeh chun lampi agonpeh-ji ahin, hijeh chun milen milal henga jong apuilut jin ahi.
17 He that is first in his own cause [seemeth] just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.
Mihem khat'in achung thu akikhol masah teng, adih in akimu nan, akihehpi dingpa ahung lhun'a akikhol chaisoh teng, achung thu kiseipan bep ahi.
18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.
Vang vetna kiti hin baotamna abeisah jin, akidou teni kah'a jong thutan in apang e.
19 A brother offended is [harder to be won] than a strong city; and contentions are as the bars of a palace.
Sopi khat in asopi khat apanpi hi, kulpi dettah tobang ahin, hinlah kinahna aso teng khopi kelkot kikam chah kheh tobang ahi.
20 A man's belly is satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; with the increase of his lips is he satisfied.
Mihem in kamngai vang in an-neh ding akimun, koi hileh akamcheng tohga ne chan chu alungkim in ahi.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Kampao le leiguia kon in thi le hin akingam in, koi hileh adihlou'a thusei chan chun atohga aneh tei ding ahi.
22 Whoso hath found a wife hath found a good thing, and hath obtained favour from Jehovah.
Pasal in numei ji-ding akimu teng, amapa chu anunnom ahin, ajeh chu Yahweh Pakaija kon lung lhaina chang ding ahitai.
23 He that is poor speaketh with supplications, but the rich answereth roughly.
Mivaichan khotona angaichat teng atao jin, hinlah mihao'in kiletsah to thon thu asei-jin ahi.
24 A man of [many] friends will come to ruin but there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother.
Gol le pai kiti hi apha-lhem manthahna thei jong aum in, hinlah gol le pai abang chu penpi tahbeh sopi sanga kinaipi jong aum in ahi.
