< Proverbs 14 >
1 The wisdom of women buildeth their house; but folly plucketh it down with her hands.
Mwasi ya bwanya atongaka ndako na ye, kasi mwasi oyo azangi mayele abukaka yango na maboko na ye moko.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah; but he that is perverted in his ways despiseth him.
Moto oyo atambolaka alima atosaka Yawe, kasi moto oyo nzela na ye etengama-tengama atiolaka Ye.
3 In the fool's mouth is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
Kati na monoko ya moto oyo azangi mayele, ezalaka na nzete ya lolendo, kasi bibebu ya moto ya bwanya ebatelaka ye.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean; but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
Esika oyo ezalaka na ngombe te, elielo mpe ezalaka na eloko te, pamba te ezali makasi ya bangombe nde epesaka bomengo.
5 A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness uttereth lies.
Motatoli ya sembo akosaka te, kasi motatoli ya mabe alobaka lokuta.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and there is none [for him]; but knowledge is easy unto the intelligent.
Motioli alukaka bwanya mpe azwaka yango te, kasi boyebi eyaka na pete epai na moto ya mayele.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, in whom thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
Zala mosika ya zoba, pamba te okotikala kozwa boyebi te na bibebu na ye.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way; but the folly of the foolish is deceit.
Bwanya ya moto ya mayele esosolisaka ye nzela na ye, kasi bozoba ya bato oyo bazangi mayele: lokuta.
9 Fools make a mock at trespass; but for the upright there is favour.
Bazoba balingaka te kosenga bolimbisi, kasi ngolu na Nzambe ezalaka kati na bato ya sembo.
10 The heart knoweth its own bitterness, and a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.
Motema eyebaka pasi na yango moko, moko te akoki kokabola na yango esengo.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown; but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
Ndako ya moto mabe ekobukana, kasi ndako ya kapo ya bayengebene ekofuluka.
12 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the ways of death.
Nzela mosusu emonanaka sembo na miso ya bato, nzokande, na suka, ememaka na kufa.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, and the end of mirth is sadness.
Ezala kati na koseka, motema ekoki kozala na mawa, mpe esengo ekoki kosuka na mawa.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man from what is in himself.
Bato oyo batambolaka na boyengebene te bakozwa lifuti kolanda misala na bango, kasi moto ya sembo mpe akozwa lifuti kolanda misala na ye.
15 The simple believeth every word; but the prudent [man] heedeth his going.
Moto oyo azangi mayele andimaka makambo nyonso oyo balobaka, kasi moto ya mayele atambolaka na bokebi.
16 A wise [man] feareth and departeth from evil; but the foolish is overbearing and confident.
Moto ya bwanya abangaka mabe mpe akimaka yango, kasi zoba atombokaka, na elikya nyonso.
17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly, and a man of mischievous devices is hated.
Moto oyo asilikaka noki asalaka makambo ya bozoba, mpe bayinaka moto ya mayele mabe.
18 The simple inherit folly; but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
Bato oyo bazangi mayele bazwaka bozoba lokola libula, kasi bato ya mayele bazwaka boyebi lokola motole.
19 The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous [man].
Bato mabe bakofukama liboso ya bato ya malamu, bato ya mitema mabe bakofukama na ekuke ya bato ya sembo.
20 He that is poor is hated even of his own neighbour; but the rich hath many friends.
Mobola ayinamaka ata epai na moninga na ye moko, kasi mozwi azalaka na baninga ebele.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth; but he that is gracious to the afflicted, happy is he.
Moto oyo atiolaka moninga na ye asalaka lisumu, kasi esengo na moto oyo asalaka bato bakelela bolamu.
22 Do they not err that devise evil? but loving-kindness and truth are for those that devise good.
Boni, bato oyo babongisaka kosala mabe bazali na libunga te? Kasi boboto mpe solo ezali epai ya bato oyo babongisaka kosala bolamu.
23 In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to want.
Mosala nyonso epesaka litomba, kasi maloba ya pamba ememaka na bobola.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches; the folly of the foolish is folly.
Bozwi ya bato ya bwanya ezalaka lokola motole na bango, kasi bozoba ya bato oyo bazangi mayele ezalaka lokola liboma.
25 A true witness delivereth souls; but deceit uttereth lies.
Motatoli oyo alobaka solo abikisaka bato ebele, kasi motatoli ya mabe alobaka lokuta.
26 In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Moto oyo atosaka Yawe akomaka na kondima makasi, mpe bana na ye bakozwa ekimelo.
27 The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.
Kotosa Yawe ezali etima ya bomoi, ekangolaka na mitambo ya kufa.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's glory; but in the lack of people is the ruin of a prince.
Kozala na bato ebele epesaka mokonzi lokumu, kasi mokonzi akweyaka soki azali na bato te.
29 He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Moto oyo asilikaka noki te azalaka mayele, kasi moto oyo akangaka motema te abimisaka bozoba na ye.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh; but envy the rottenness of the bones.
Motema oyo ezali na kimia epesaka bomoi na nzoto, kasi bilulela epolisaka mikuwa.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; but he that honoureth Him is gracious to the needy.
Moto oyo anyokolaka mobola atiolaka Mokeli ya mobola yango, kasi moto oyo asalelaka moto akelela bolamu apesaka Ye lokumu.
32 The wicked is driven away by his evil-doing; but the righteous trusteth, [even] in his death.
Babenganaka moto mabe mpo na mabe na ye, kasi moto ya sembo awumelaka na elikya kino ata na kufa.
33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of the intelligent [man]; but that which is in the foolish maketh itself known.
Bwanya ewumelaka kati na motema ya moto oyo azali na bososoli; kasi boni, ekoyebana solo kati na bazoba?
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to peoples.
Bosembo etombolaka ekolo, kasi lisumu ememelaka bato soni.
35 The king's favour is toward a wise servant; but his wrath is [against] him that causeth shame.
Mokonzi asepelaka na mosali ya bwanya, kasi mosali oyo ayokisaka ye soni apelisaka kanda na ye.
