Philemon 1
1 Paul, prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timotheus the brother, to Philemon the beloved and our fellow-workman,
Pavel, jetnik Jezusa Kristusa in naš brat Timótej, našemu srčno ljubljenemu Filémonu in sodelavcu
2 and to the sister Apphia and to Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the assembly which [is] in thine house.
in naši dragi Apíji in Arhipu, našemu sobojevniku ter cerkvi v tvoji hiši:
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.
›Milost vam in mir od Boga, našega Očeta in Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa.‹
4 I thank my God, always making mention of thee at my prayers,
Vedno, kadar te omenjam v svojih molitvah, se zahvaljujem svojemu Bogu,
5 hearing of thy love and the faith which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints,
ker slišim o tvoji ljubezni in o tvoji veri, ki jo imaš do Gospoda Jezusa in do vseh svetih;
6 in such sort that thy participation in the faith should become operative in the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in us towards Christ [Jesus].
da bi prenos tvoje vere lahko postal učinkovit s priznavanjem vsake dobre stvari, ki je v tebi v Kristusu Jezusu.
7 For we have great thankfulness and encouragement through thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
Kajti v tvoji ljubezni imamo veliko veselje in tolažbo, ker so po tebi, brat, osvežene notranjosti svetih.
8 Wherefore having much boldness in Christ to enjoin thee what is fitting,
Zatorej čeprav bi bil v Kristusu lahko zelo drzen, da ti zapovem to, kar je primerno,
9 for love's sake I rather exhort, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also prisoner of Jesus Christ.
te vendar zaradi ljubezni raje rotim, tak, kakršen sem, Pavel, starec in sedaj tudi jetnik Jezusa Kristusa.
10 I exhort thee for my child, whom I have begotten in [my] bonds, Onesimus,
Rotim te za svojega sina Onézima, ki sem ga rodil v svojih vezeh,
11 once unserviceable to thee, but now serviceable to thee and to me:
ki ti je bil v preteklem času nekoristen, toda sedaj koristi tebi in meni.
12 whom I have sent back to thee: [but do thou receive] him, that is, my bowels:
Njega sem ponovno poslal. Ti ga torej sprejmi, to je, mojo lastno notranjost;
13 whom I was desirous of keeping with myself, that for thee he might minister to me in the bonds of the glad tidings;
katerega sem želel obdržati pri sebi, da bi mi namesto tebe lahko služil v vezeh evangelija.
14 but I have wished to do nothing without thy mind, that thy good might not be as of necessity but of willingness:
Toda brez tvojega mišljenja ne želim storiti ničesar; da tvoja korist ne bi bila, kakor bi bila iz nuje, temveč prostovoljna.
15 for perhaps for this reason he has been separated [from thee] for a time, that thou mightest possess him fully for ever; (aiōnios g166)
Kajti zato je mogoče za nekaj časa odpotoval, da bi ga sprejel za zmeraj; (aiōnios g166)
16 not any longer as a bondman, but above a bondman, a beloved brother, specially to me, and how much rather to thee, both in [the] flesh and in [the] Lord?
sedaj ne kot služabnika, temveč več kot služabnika, ljubljenega brata, predvsem meni, toda koliko bolj tebi, tako v mesu kakor v Gospodu?
17 If therefore thou holdest me to be a partner [with thee], receive him as me;
Če me imaš torej za družabnika, ga sprejmi kakor mene.
18 but if he have wronged thee anything or owe anything [to thee], put this to my account.
Če ti je prizadel krivico ali ti karkoli dolguje, pripiši to na moj račun;
19 I Paul have written [it] with mine own hand; I will repay [it]: that I say not to thee that thou owest even thine own self also to me.
jaz, Pavel, sem to napisal s svojo lastno roko, sam ti bom to povrnil; čeprav ti ne rečem, kako mi poleg tega dolguješ celó samega sebe.
20 Yea, brother, I would have profit of thee in [the] Lord: refresh my bowels in Christ.
Da, brat, naj imam veselje s teboj v Gospodu. Osveži mojo notranjost v Gospodu.
21 Being confident of thine obedience, I have written to thee, knowing that thou wilt do even more than I say.
Ker imam zaupanje v tvojo poslušnost, sem ti pisal, vedoč, da boš storil tudi več, kakor pravim.
22 But withal prepare me also a lodging; for I hope that I shall be granted to you through your prayers.
Toda poleg tega mi pripravi tudi stanovanje, kajti zaupam, da vam bom podarjen zaradi vaših molitev.
23 Epaphras salutes thee, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus;
Pozdravljajo te Epafrá, moj sojetnik v Kristusu Jezusu,
24 Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow-workmen.
Marko, Aristarh, Demá, Luka, moji sodelavci.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit.
