Numbers 8
1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,
| خداوند به موسی فرمود: |
2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
| «به هارون بگو که وقتی چراغها را در چراغدان می‌گذارد طوری باشد که نور هفت چراغ، جلوی چراغدان بتابد.» |
3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
| پس هارون همین کار را کرد. او چراغها را طوری کار گذاشت که نور آنها جلوی چراغدان بتابد، همان‌طور که خداوند به موسی فرمان داده بود. |
4 And this was the work of the candlestick: [it was] of beaten gold; from its base to its flowers was it beaten work; according to the form which Jehovah had shewn Moses, so had he made the candlestick.
| چراغدان از تزیینات پایه گرفته تا شاخه‌هایش تمام از طلا ساخته شده بود. این چراغدان دقیقاً طبق همان طرحی ساخته شده بود که خداوند به موسی نشان داده بود. |
5 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
| سپس خداوند به موسی فرمود: |
6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
| «اکنون لاویان را از بقیهٔ قوم اسرائیل جدا کن و آنها را تطهیر نما. |
7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle upon them water of purification from sin; and they shall pass the razor over all their flesh, and shall wash their garments, and make themselves clean.
| این عمل را با پاشیدن آب طهارت بر آنها شروع نموده، سپس به آنان بگو که تمام موی بدن خود را تراشیده، لباسهایشان را بشویند و این‌گونه خود را تطهیر کنند. |
8 And they shall take a young bullock and its oblation of fine flour mingled with oil; and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin-offering.
| از ایشان بخواه که یک گوسالۀ نر و هدیهٔ آردی آن را که از آرد مرغوب مخلوط با روغن تهیه شده با یک گوسالۀ نر دیگر برای قربانی گناه بیاورند. |
9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tent of meeting; and thou shalt gather together the whole assembly of the children of Israel.
| بعد در حضور همۀ جماعت اسرائیل، لاویان را به کنار در خیمهٔ ملاقات بیاور. |
10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before Jehovah; and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites.
| پس لاویان را به حضور خداوند بیاور و بنی‌اسرائیل دستهای خود را روی سر آنها بگذارند، |
11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites as a wave-offering before Jehovah from the children of Israel, and they shall perform the service of Jehovah.
| و هارون آنان را به جای تمام قوم اسرائیل به عنوان هدیهٔ مخصوص، وقف خداوند نماید تا لاویان به جای تمامی قوم، خداوند را خدمت کنند. |
12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and thou shalt offer the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, to Jehovah, to make atonement for the Levites.
| «سپس لاویان دستهای خود را بر سر گاوها بگذارند، و تو یکی را به‌عنوان قربانی گناه و دیگری را به‌عنوان قربانی سوختنی به حضور خداوند تقدیم کن تا برای لاویان کفاره شود. |
13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them as a wave-offering to Jehovah.
| آنگاه لاویان باید به عنوان هدیهٔ مخصوص به خداوند تقدیم شده توسط هارون و پسرانش به خدمت گماشته شوند. |
14 And thou shalt separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, that the Levites may be mine.
| به این طریق، لاویان را از میان بقیهٔ قوم اسرائیل جدا کن و ایشان از آن من خواهند بود. |
15 And afterwards shall the Levites come in to do the service of the tent of meeting. And thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them as a wave-offering.
| پس از آنکه لاویان را به این ترتیب تطهیر و وقف نمودی، ایشان خدمت خود را در خیمهٔ ملاقات آغاز خواهند کرد. |
16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of every one that breaketh open the womb, instead of every firstborn among the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
| «لاویان از میان تمام قوم اسرائیل به من تعلق دارند و من آنها را به جای همهٔ پسران ارشد بنی‌اسرائیل قبول کرده‌ام؛ |
17 For all the firstborn among the children of Israel are mine, both of man and beast; on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I hallowed them to myself.
| زیرا همۀ نخست‌زادگان در میان قوم اسرائیل، خواه انسان و خواه حیوان، به من تعلق دارند. همان شبی که نخست‌زادگان مصری‌ها را کشتم اینها را به خود اختصاص دادم. |
18 And I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
| آری، من لاویان را به جای تمام نخست‌زادگان بنی‌اسرائیل پذیرفته‌ام |
19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons, from among the children of Israel, to perform the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel; that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel draw near to the sanctuary.
| و من لاویان را به هارون و پسرانش هدیه می‌کنم. لاویان باید وظایف مقدّسی را که بر عهدهٔ قوم اسرائیل می‌باشد، در خیمهٔ ملاقات انجام داده، قربانیهای قوم را تقدیم نمایند و برای ایشان کفاره کنند تا وقتی بنی‌اسرائیل به قدس نزدیک می‌شوند بلایی بر سر آنها نیاید.» |
20 And Moses and Aaron, and all the assembly of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites: so did the children of Israel to them.
| پس موسی و هارون و قوم اسرائیل با پیروی دقیق از دستورهایی که خداوند به موسی داده بود، لاویان را وقف نمودند. |
21 And the Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their garments; and Aaron offered them as a wave-offering before Jehovah; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
| لاویان خود را طاهر ساخته، لباسهایشان را شستند و هارون آنان را به عنوان هدیهٔ مخصوص به خداوند تقدیم نمود. بعد به منظور تطهیر نمودن لاویان برای ایشان مراسم کفاره را بجا آورد. |
22 And afterwards the Levites came in to perform their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons; as Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they to them.
| همه چیز درست طبق دستورهایی که خداوند به موسی داده بود، انجام گردید و به این ترتیب لاویان به عنوان دستیاران هارون و پسرانش، آمادهٔ خدمت در خیمهٔ ملاقات شدند. |
23 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
| خداوند همچنین به موسی فرمود: |
24 This is that which concerneth the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward shall he come to labour in the work of the service of the tent of meeting.
| «لاویان باید خدمت در خیمۀ ملاقات را از سن بیست و پنج سالگی یا بالاتر شروع کنند |
25 And from fifty years old he shall retire from the labour of the service, and shall serve no more;
| و در سن پنجاه سالگی بازنشسته شوند. |
26 but he shall minister with his brethren in the tent of meeting, and keep the charge, but he shall not serve [in] the service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites with regard to their charges.
| پس از بازنشستگی می‌توانند در خیمهٔ ملاقات، برادران خود را در انجام وظایفشان یاری دهند، ولی خود، مستقیم مسئولیتی نخواهند داشت. به این ترتیب وظایف لاویان را به ایشان محول کن.» |
